LYRICS:
Bring my flowers now while I’m livin’
I won’t need your love when I’m gone
Don’t spend time, tears, or money on my ole breathless body
If your heart is in them flowers, bring them on
All the miles cast a long shadow
I’d take a couple back if I could
I’d have learned to play guitar, tell my daddy more I loved him
But I believe for the most part I done good
There’s always sunrise and rainbows and babies
And the little things I cherish on my way
Even though one day they’ll bury me and Jessie Ray
I just know we’re gonna ride again someday
Bring my flowers now while I’m livin’
I won’t need your love when I’m gone
Don’t spend time, tears, or money on my ole breathless body
If your heart is in them flowers, bring them on
The days are long but the years are lightening
They’re bright and they will never strike again
I wish I’d been a better friend, a better daughter to my mother
There’s no going back when your back’s against the wind
So if you got love then you’re sittin’ on a gold mine
And you can’t take it with you when you go
So don’t wait, help your sister, forgive your brother and your neighbor
We all think we’ve got the time until we don’t
Bring my flowers now while I’m livin’
I won’t need your love when I’m gone
Don’t spend time, tears, or money on my ole breathless body
If your heart is in them flowers, bring them on
If your heart is in them flowers, bring them on

My husband was raised country, and was full of old sayings. He had one for every occasion, and I remember him saying this about flowers many times - I don't want your flowers at my funeral if you wouldn't have given them to me when I was alive. I streamed the Netflix special last week, and was thrilled to hear this song. I've been a fan of Tanya's for years, and her voice still sends chills up my spine. Thank you, Brandi, for convincing Tanya she still has a place in our hearts.

A real country song by a classy woman. No furs or showing body parts does one become a country singer. A real heart and beautiful song is country! Love you Tanya!🎉
About time she won a Grammy.Tanya is as good as any country singer that ever lived.
I lost my husband of 38 years, almost 7 years, ago.he was the most loving and compassionate human being.i loved his bigger than life, heart.i never asked for.any diamonds and other wordly possessions. He was the one,who picked a single rose in the garden and put it behind.my ear.his way to show.me how he loved.me was priceless.i have so many beautyful.memories.of him with looking at me with a big smile and his beautyful, brown eyes.he made me the happiest woman on earth.thats why i miss him every day, more and more.he was the love of my life and my soulmate, too.❤

My Mother used to say that she did not want flowers on her grave. Give her flowers while she was alive. My Father was not one to give flowers much but when I was a teenager I got him to understand that Mama wanted flowers so he started giving her flowers more. They are both gone now. And I visit their graves some but I never put flowers on the graves. I am honoring her wishes. I have planted flowers at the family home in her honor though. Love this song.

I grew up with Tanya and Tammy, Loretta and Dolly. But it’s her voice that feels like a warm blanket, wrapping you up in memories of childhood. I’m so glad Brandi holds such reverence for Tanya and convinced her to record again. And yes, like many, the years have taken their toll on her voice….but no matter….it’s a voice that still has a story to tell, through grit and tears.

I agree the message is raw and real for everyone. The part that touches me to my core is at the end when she tips her hat turns around and rides off into the sunset the music stops the birds stop singing and the video turns black this is real my friends for Ms. Tanya and for us all,so show love now,but you ask what exactly is love? (1 Corinthians 13:4-7)Love suffers long and is kind: love does not envy; love does not parade itself,is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own,is not provoked, thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things,Hope's all things, endures all things.love never fails.

So beautiful! my grandmother always said bring me flowers when I'm alive when I'm dead I won't see/enjoy them. She meant with it that she wanted us to come and visite her when she was alive and not standing at her grave. I tried to go to her every week. And bought her flowers and still bring her flowers at her grave. Her daughters miss her so much as do I. I try to go there before them so that the grave looks pretty when they are there. Respect to Tanya Tucker and Brandi Carlile. I've been a Tanya Tucker fan for many years and have most of her music on album, cassette or cd. Thrilled to hear her recording again and this song is most beautiful. From a fellow Singer/Songwriter, this song is gold. Hello from Canada!
Today (1/23/24) would have been my mother's 92nd birthday. She was taken way too soon, 25 years ago. Sunny played this song on Willie's Roadhouse this morning and it reminded me of her. My father outlived her by 20 years and missed her dearly. He always bought her flowers and spent years decorating her grave. Still think about both of them almost daily. She battled cancer for 10 years and then passed a few months before their 50th Anniversary. 😢❤
10 years battling cancer and never miss a ride. Can’t wait for th pain to be over to live !! Enjoy each day !!
Well done Tanya abd Brandi! Listened to this lovely lady growing up. Good to see you singing

This was exactly the way my Momma lived. When she died in August of 2019, not one flower was present. Her flowers were outside her window for her to look at...growing in the pots her great grandchildren planted them in. The love surrounded her daily. First time I heard this song was when she sang it on Loretta Lynn's birthday. I fell in love with it instantly and was looking all over for this song, and then realized the album wasn't out yet lol. This song hit home for me as when my mother (God rest her soul) was terminally ill, I remember her words like it was yesterday, she said "I don't want flowers at my funeral, you want to bring me flowers bring them now as I can't smell them when I'm dead, and we did just that. And I still hold what she said today, so this song had a lot more meaning then just some song to me. My mother always said throughout her life, don't come crying at my funeral and show how much you miss me, show me now. We grew up being raised that way.

Gawd damn it how to turn an old man in to a train wreck😢. You still got it Tanya❤
Was always special from the start. Deserves flowers❤
Grammy nominations brought me here. Just knew this lady 😲
The flowers are on their way to you now. 💐🌹🌷🌸🌺🌼🥀🌻💐Hopefully, country radio will give this song the air time it deserves.
I seen the documentary Tanya tucker did with Brandi . I loved it . I grew up with Tanya tucker when I was little girl my dad was a big fan of her n still till this day he has the cardboard stand up portrait of Tanya in the TNT black leather outfit on n still has it in his room til this day . Brandi I'm so glad u got Tanya out of her shell n brought her back n got her to comeback . She deserves it . Thank u Brandi love u Tanya
I'm old enough to remember hearing her voice for the 1st time. Seeing her on TV for the first time. Hits just like Elvis Loretta Tammy Sammy etc.
Love that horse! Love of God, family and life's joys is richer than any bank account. Ever.
Saw this on the Grammy's and it immediately struck my heart. I lost my Mammie 2 weeks ago today, and wish I had found it before she passed. She was a fan and would have loved this. I played it for my mom this morning, and we cried together. Thank you for this so much. Beautiful and poignant. Miss you, Mammiekins ❤💋

Hello Sammy..
Tanya Tucker one of the all-time best voices & what a beautiful song, if you have flowers for someone make sure to bring them on while they are able to see & smell them. .
I was very young when she came On the scene. Delta Dawn was a song my grandparents listened too. But now that I’m older, this song moves me so much. That voice is amazing! Well done Tanya
How beautiful. I have stage 3 colon cancer. I fully expect to conquer it. Still this song says it all. Thanks

How in the world does she sing it without tears. Beautiful job, Beautiful lady.
Just watched “ The Return of Tanya Tucker” I grew up in Willcox, Arizona and I remember hearing rumors about her not claiming it. Thank you for proving them wrong. This song brings back so many memories of my childhood there. I’ve been gone a long time but this took me right back. Thank you❤
Oh my goodness, it just doesn't get any better than this. Her voice, her feeling, her delivery, it all comes together perfectly in a song that cuts so deep. Truly one of the greats, a true legend.
So beautiful. Tanya Mother Tucker is back with not only class, but tact. Which is hard to come by. The way she can tell a story with her voice is so heartwarming, really bittersweet. The ladies and gentlemen of country music better watch out, because this daredevil need not your approval nor you acceptance as she continues to set the bar high in the country music world, be it man or woman. She is a "High Ridin Hero" in the opinion of generations to come.

This album needs to be nominated for the CMA Awards next year. Tanya's way overdue for induction into the hall of fame too.

Johnny Tod You are quite correct. The thing that really, really defines Tanya is her awesome talent. And this song testifies that it is as good as ever has been. BTW, I am a Willcox boy and knew her as a young girl. Been rooting for her ever since.

She has always been what my kids would call a badass...I’ve loved every song she ever mad...
One of the most meaningful songs I ever heard, alot of kids now days don't care when their parents age they want to put them in assisted living or some horid place because they can't sacrifice a moment of time to care for their parents after these parents sacrificing a lifetime of caring for them, shame on this generation, they too will grow old one day

She still gotts it . Thank you Shooter and Brandi for finding it again and helping her drag it into the world.
Grammy winner! I can see why! Missed Tanya! Congratulations Girl!!
Exactly what my mama use to say I miss her so much 😭 thank God i was as much possible before God called her . Rip 🙏 mom
Death has no empathy, I'm now 60 I've seen all the greats come & pass on, our generation is now near end of our lifes realm we to will be forgotten but it was one hell of a ride . It was great to hear Tammy once again our time clock although still ticking is fading quietly til it grabs us in the end ....
