@Kaizaro123 The bleed air is not all that "tremendous" on turbine engines. You only bleed off what you must. Otherwise the compressor is doing work for nothing. The more work the compressor does the harder the turbine section needs to be fired, meaning more fuel use. I dont know much about tanks but I know a little about turbines. I work with big ones.

I was a driver on the Abrams from 2013-2016, this crew looks to be out of Fort Hood, Texas, 1st Cav Division by the patch on the TC’s uniform, and they’re doing a daytime NBC engagement, which is why they’re all wearing gas masks. The headset muffles the majority of the noise, which is coming from the twin turbine Honeywell engine, which is also the same engine that is in the Blackhawk helicopter, and puts out about 1500 hp. You get used to the noise after you’ve been in there long enough though. The loader did a ok job but was slow, he’s supposed to load in 7 seconds or less. The fastest I’ve ever seen was 4 seconds. But this video takes me back, I sure as hell miss being on a tank! Hooah! 🤘

@@b23gulf I got injured while doing maintenance on one of the tanks, I didn’t have 3 points of contact and I fell off the top and landed on my hip on the ground. At first I was able to just walk it off but I developed a really bad pain and it effected my run time for the PT test. The company was threatening to chapter me out, I went and got a mri and X-ray, nothing showed up so they thought it wasn’t a big deal. The pain continued though and I couldn’t pass the run portion of the PT test, I needed 15:56, I kept getting 16. By that time my ETS date was coming up, so I said fuck it and ETS’d out.

I remember way back during the early eighties when I was a 19D stationed at Fort Bliss with the 3rd ACR, I would cross train as a 19K by doing my share of loading 105mm rounds on a M60 MBT. I loved the smell of the smoke and burnt powder to include the load bang and thump in your chest from the main gun firing, I miss it so! I also remember everybody trying to sleep inside the tank during winter operations to escape the cold. Trying to find a suitable place to sleep in the turret for 3 guys required a lot of thinking outside the box. The driver had the best spot by far and he was right next to the diesel heater to boot. I also remember when someone would pass gas inside the tank with the heater going full blast, it was when I first experienced grown men cry!! And this was especially true if the mobile field mess hall had served Chili Mac that night. Oh how I miss it so!

We went out to the field at least 9 months a year, and I’ve been to NTC and JRTC with my unit as well, it was both exhilarating and exhausting, but it was the best times I’ve had in my life so far and I think back to those days fondly! Games are realistic to a certain extent. Older tanks had different guns on them and had a different, less comfortable and ergonomical space layout. Modern tanks have a much bigger calibre main cannons but the loading system is sinplified. There is no complicated procedures during breech unlocking, opening, loading, closing and locking. It’s much much much simplified in modern tanks so they have much better relioading time. Also, you’re comparing different tanks of different roles from totally different periods. Nit every tank has a same reloading rate. Smaller caliber guns are faster to reload, naturally. If you stated a SPECIFIC tank and compared World of Tanks, War Thunder to real life.

As a Leopard gunner/loader and now a commander, I can say while being completely honest, that loading is SICK Seriously, the canon breach comes back centimeters in front of you, it would tear your arm right off if you held it in front of it, you open the ammunition room, take out that 25kg projectile, yeet that shit into the canon and immediatley recoil your hand so it won't get caught by the breach going back up, you push the button so computer knows you're clear to fire, scream "LOADED", you hear your commander giving your gunner the permition to fire, gunner saying whatever it is he says in your country (we say "Attention, Fire"), and you feel the hammer strike of the pressure equalization over your entire body, not hearing the explosion until it bounces off of hills and woods around your tank, hear the bottom of the ammunition fall out with a loud metallic noise and you reload.

The United States is both republic and democratic. These are not types of governments, they are principles of governments. A democracy means that anyone has the opportunity to become leader of the country. A republic means that you can vote for your own leaders.

Tanks have always been a big interest to me. And I'm glad that I have the chance to work with an amazing piece of technology.
