Welcome back to AVC Sessions, our new series where we bring in an artist, band, musician, singer, rapper, etc. to perform three of their own tracks. For the inaugural Session, NPR Tiny Desk Contest winners Tank And The Bangas brought their style and New Orleans charm to the A.V. Club studio. In the final video from their Session, Tank spits a couple of freestyles and shows off her dance moves in a lively performance of their 2017 single “Quick.”

When you are a good artist and when you work hard you know how to interpret you own song in different ways. Also the atmosphere you enter on stage is always different and gives differents vibes that you put inside it. They are amazing at that and they truly have fun, overall, that's the key. They know each other so well they can play and joke and still make amazing music :) I am a musician too and i absolutely love listenning other musicians having fun while being very serious into the work.

I love this fun rendition. I wish they would do a lighthearted, very rhythmic version that included Tank's spoken word piece that is usually part of Quick. It's such powerful verse, but I also really love the way they play off each other in these lighter versions. These just seem to be having pure fun, and I can't help but feel the same. Their joy in performing is infectious.

I think that Tank and the Bangas are Totally Amazing! I heard them one night on the Tonight Show. I've been following them Eversince. Love the Realness and the complete synchronizing of the instruments and the poetry expressing the message that has meaning. Great Expressions of Life.
