Tangled Mother Humpback Whale Needs Help

Үй жануарлары мен аңдар

While fishing around the island of Tonga we discovered a tangled mother humpback whale with a calf. We hopped in the water to help but had a hard time getting close. We were determined to help this whale, hearing an animal of that size crying underwater is the saddest thing I have seen and heard. The final moments of freedom were not captured on film but we successful in removing the buoys and anchor from the mother whale.

It was truly heroic of all of you to rescue this mother. If she had died, her calf would also probably not have survived without her. They have a similar life span as humans so you almost certainly gave the world many more whales in the future by rescuing this mother. God bless you for caring.

Oh, I see. They try to do something (but fail), make a video of themselves trying to do it, and add no footage of the people who actually achieve it. Then all the viewers with sub par intelligence watch the video, totally fail to grasp the facts, and fall all over themselves to congratulate the people WHO FAILED. Yes, it's nice that people tried to free the animal. But let's not give them credit for actually freeing it. That thanks belongs to someone else.

Many whales PANIC when humans show up - and who'd blame them. Some rescues clearly show the whale slowing and even stopping when they know we are trying to help. It shows the intelligence of animals (whales, rays, sharks even and elephants etc etc) when they actually come TO us for help.

Betty Blanchard The correct thing to say is well done, great job, outstanding work etc.......NOT "thank you" it implies that somehow this person has more invested in this fine animal then any other member of the human race, which of course they do not, unless they reared it from a calf which is unlikely. Yours sincerely a cetacean loving( be they Odontoceti or Mysticeti) "idiot"😉

Mikey Mike I couldn’t agree more Mikey, they do what they want because they make certain powerful people rich. I very rarely eat sea food yet there is a massive demand for it, so they rape and cull the oceans, humans won’t be happy until they have killed the ocean

@@-BUFFALOMan what's your problem man? DuzBee is only speaking the truth. It's well known that unless something is done about the plastic pouring into our oceans that soon there will be more plastic in the sea than fish. And the fish that are there are being plundered mercilessly by longline trawlers. Will you be the first to say you were wrong when there are no fish left?
