Loved tangier island! Been twice. It’s a totally different life style than I have. I took my mom and dad there from Arizona to this island the second time. They were fascinated with everything about it. They have since passed but it’s a memory I won’t soon forget!

I understand people wanting to have a better life, but I would prefer their simple life over the life that I live away from where they are. I would much rather get to wake up and see the ocean every day of my life then to wake up and look around me to see a cement world. You people are very very very lucky and blessed to get to live where you live. I would take that into consideration before I would ever consider leaving where you are. You will never be happy away from that island. I went to your island once, and I have never forgot it I would just give it anything to get to live there and live out my days there.

With NRHP status since 2014, throwing in the towel is not an option. The size and population is their "saving grace". If there was proper leadership within their political structure capable of formulating plan of sustainability, beyond continued depletion of the crab population and 50% tourism, then its rescue would be an easier sell to the decision makers.

Thanks. That's bound to work. No need to address climate change through policy, just squint while smiling and nodding your head, safe in the knowledge that your God is definitely going to stop the sea level rising and consuming your island.

You need to do some research on dredging land for reclamation before putting your Democrat-indoctrinated brain on parade.

A way of life is dying and you got political jokes. Nice. Maybe your hero Biden will build them a wall.
