(Originally aired in the mid-1970s) Tangier Island is one of the most unique communities in Virginia. It's also one of the most endangered.
Sea level rise caused by climate change has been accelerating the rate of land loss and may force the inhabitants to leave.

    The modern description talks about climate change affecting the island but the documentary actually states the problem is sinking and erosion..

    This old film said population about 1000 in 2024 i believe population about 250. Like to get to the island yours truly Evans w Robinson ret sgt
