They are celebrating their 20th year Anniversary this year. React to their current album 'Ghostlight' very 80/90s album is just very different to their earlier tune. 'Cor Cordis' in Latin means heart to heart.

Of all the analyses I have read and heard about this song, yours is the one that comes closest to what I feel from this cry of the heart. On the ticket at the end, the inscription refers to the heart, (cordis in Latin) and so, yes, she has a chance to come back to him.. A really beautiful piece ! Thank you

Marko is a true modern poet, what I love most about POTF is that although every song has a clear meaning, because of the story the lyrics tell, everyone has their own interpretation of the songs meanings

I simply cannot understand, how you got the entire story of the song with just one watch. That is crazy! you really do pay attention man... Im glad you keep pausing and giving your takes, thats exactly what i think most people want to see from a reaction video. Thats why i subbed ;)

I love Poets of the Fall. This is such a great song. His voice is unique, but it is similar to a Christian artist back in the 70’s….yes, the 70’s. His name was/is (he is still alive), Oden Fong. Anyone wants to check him out, (not for religious purposes, voice alone) I think you will see what I mean.

Fil, another banger track from Poets Of The Fall. Great lyrical journey, loving the backing vocal tracks and the hook. #QcumberSquad #PoetsOfTheFall - Fil, I'm off back to the study.

I've always like the interpretation of it being sung by a man who was in love and intimately involved with a married woman, who cannot deal with the guilt any longer and goes back to her husband, leaving her lover alone again.

Yeah she is the only one wearing the gas mask. That's because she can't hear, and everything is reflected back from her lenses. The swirls reflected on her lenses and in the lollypop she eats, tell she is hypnotized. My Poets of the Fall favorite is "False Kings." Then comes "Requiem for my Harlequin" and this "Carnival of Rust".

He is part of this carnival. Carnival of lust. That's why he asks her to feed the rain, meaning that she should join.. here the whole song is permeated with the temptation of a manipulator. He talks about the cloak and rapier, sending us to the bullfight. Where everything that is found at the carnival is a bullfighter, and she is in this all - a bull, in front of which they wave a red rag. Enticing her to then hit her with a rapier. It's about the manipulator and the eternity of innocence.. The manipulator really dies without the object of manipulation. He is rusting under the rain of lust that corrodes him. And he needs it to rust with some history..) All manipulators, narcissists feed on naivety, innocence, youth.. But, for a naive person and at the same time deprived of attention since childhood, this is a real trap. Attractive at least because it has attention..) Until you are broken, you will be the center of attention of such a pervert) To some extent, this is the theme of growing up. Loss of innocence. Getting to know the world. A real world in which there are practically no healthy people) Everyone rusts over time, getting sick with their own disease.. misanthropy, social phobia, narcissism, psychopathy, and others.. charms))) As the classic says there: Hell is empty. All the devils are here.

I think you were right on the money on your analysis, but there is one step further: the performers themselves are also a part of this consuming world, and they bare their souls to exist for ever decreasing reward. That's why the carneval is rusting. In the end, the harlequin expels his last message: Cor Cordis, a soul for soul. Which in this video is: a coin. That's what his soul was worth. This whole song was for nothing more than coin. A powerful metaphor, right?

They have so many fantastic songs and videos. Please react to Daze mv and Requiem for my Harlequin mv from their latest album. They both have the same clown/Harlequin concept in the video. Beautiful.
