What a lucky family to have each other and such love. I’m a straight old man who’s so touched to see people be happy. Be themselves. Live their own life. Thanks for being open and real.

Personally, as a progressive straight person, I fully support the LGBT community in its never-ending battle for genuine equality and full human rights in the world. Seeing people like Nicole Maines giving great expressions of positivity and power have meant truly a lot to me. Bravo!

These two kids have been through such hard times but they have only grown from it and become wise beyond their years.

I had the honor of meeting this awesome family, I just happened to choose the same doctor and had my Grs the same day as this amazing girl. They are exactly on stage as they are in person.

@Michelle Louise Davis Have you seen any of her films or television series’? She is a wonderful young lady and she has definitely gone places. Though I suppose you may have not if you only sit around watching NCIS or Days of Our Lives. I would really look at your accomplishments before throwing hers under the rug. Nicole did start a movement after all for trans kids like her, what have you done with your life? She was 18 when she did that. Have you done anything as extraordinary like that in your lifetime?

@Michelle Louise Davis I also just wanted to state that neuroscience plays a role in being transgender. There are plenty of studies showing proof of the topic and some that are controversial. Though I would think some facts out weigh others a lot. It is up to you I suppose. Do your research, ask individuals how they feel, ask family members. Though I doubt you would take the time and effort to do such a thing. Knowledge and understanding is power my friend. Not ignorance.

Just because it’s not your experience doesn’t mean it doesn’t happen. Plenty of trans people victims of hate and are stuck in horrible situations because of it

So we have to play the pronoun game to figure out who you are talking about? What exactly is being overdone? Nicole's story was national news, and you probably benefitted from her court case (even if indirectly) since it was one of the reasons Obama changed how the DOJ looked at discrimination cases. PS don't bother trying the I'm trans, you're not game. - a trans woman

@@MattSkylar -- Gender identity is in a person's brain, not their crotch. That thing can always be removed or added. And no one can see chromosomes except maybe in a lab.
