This is a secondary lens for me, addition to my Sony f1.8 and i never really shoot wide open. The Tamron 35mm f2.8 was the perfect addition for me. The price is almost 40% the price of the sony 35 f1.8. Going to f2 would pump the price up and defeat the purpose of having a sharp great performing low budget lens for Sony. I love everything about this lens. Price and performance (for photography only for me)
Is there any compensation in the photos? Usually third lens have.
Check out sony alpha’s blog of list of lenses that resolve 61 megapixels well..the 24mm Tamron is up there in the outstanding category..better than any other E mount cheap lens in resolution..it has its distortion and AF flows as usual for a cheapie..but sheet resolution alone?the 24 competes with the G Master corner to corner up untill f 8-11 where the G Master takes over..
Does the 24mm edge and photo bend in the video?
Hello man,I would like to know more about these two lens, how these lens works in low light?
what great lenses for the price. even more so when buying used. therefore i can work with F2.8
Hello mate. Excellent piece, thanks! Would you recommend the 24mm for a small/dark-ish room, for vlogging etc?

Thanks. 24 is a bit challenging for vlogs unless you have long arms

Bobby, I know there isn't the 20mm f2.8 in this video, but if you were to choose between the three, 20mm, 24mm and 35mm, which one would you go for?

Hi Ronald depends on what your are using it for. If I was vlogging 20 all the way. Street photography 35, landscape 20 or 24
Great review and I love Singapore. I think the f2.8 is great. I rarely use f2.0 because of the bokeh is way too much to tell the background. And the price point is also the reason to buy. I should take the duck tour and see more of Singapore. Yeah.
Whats the difference in wideness and low light shooting Sony a7iv with tampon 24mm 2.8 vs Laowa 9mm f/2.8 Zero-D SLR Ultra-Wide Lens? The laowa is twice the price!!!
might work well with the A7siii... 16000 ISO is clean for lowlight, 12MP resolution will get suitable sharpness, & might be able to use the combination on a crane M2 gimbal for vlogging. Was hoping to see some vlogging/snobby bokeh test here though 😅.

Won’t be able to use the M2. Weebill lab for sure though. Haha no need for that kind of bokeh test with a 2.8.

@@TECH360TV I've seen an A7iii with the s sony 20mm 1.8 (still trying to confirm limitations) & an A6400 with the sigma 16mm 1.4 on the M2 doing the works.. Above recommendations but doable.. this 20mm 2.8 is a piece of cake in comparison.
May I ask, what was this filmed on? Cheers!

@@TECH360TV That's what I thought. Just can't beat those Canon colours
Hey Bobby, it is Duck Tours because the vehicle used is a Royal Marine army DUKW or commonly known as a Duck. It is an amphibious vehicle. Good video, by the way, with a great question. Why 2.8? Thanks dude.

Thanks for the info and thanks for watching!
Hey Bobby, Sony has a very good (if not cheap), 35mm 1.8. This one is most against the Zeiss 35mm 2.8 (wonderful) and the Samyang 35 2.8 (very good and very cheap).

Yes but the price is difference is where I think they could have come out with an F2 and really made a big impact.
Maybe they missed mark a bit with these lenses. If you have to step down from 2.8 to 5.6 and etc, why not buy 24-70 f4 instead. Nikon z version of f4 24-70 is beautiful and sharp wide open, not sure about Sony f4 though (never tried it myself).

Some Photographers and videographers want primes for certain applications. Tamrons Zoom lenses are also good, but this review is more focused on the primes

Well, "beautiful and sharp" is subjective. Primes are supposed to be even more beautiful and sharper, with better contrast and less aberrations. That's why I don't use any zooms.
It's a Duck tour because that is the name of the amphibious vehicle used. The tour vehicle drives int the water and becomes a boat. I liked the review, though I'm looking at the lens for APS/C
One Big Problem: Tamron comes in @f/2, and then the price jumps up and you run into the territory of a Zeiss Batis (the 25mm and 40mm are just outstanding)... I think Tamron wanted to carve out their own weight and very low price point...
@TECH360TV

Understand but for Prime I think f2 even if it’s slightly more expensive would be ideal. Zooms I understand why 2.8 though
hahah oh f&%$ it off fix it in light room! hahahahahah
