Tampa Bay Inshore Fishing with Greenbacks [Snook & Redfish]

Спорт

In this video, I wanted to catch some greenbacks, threadfins, whitebait, pilchards or whatever you want to call them to use as bait to go inshore fishing around Tampa Bay, Florida. I quickly caught a good amount of bait and was able to find a mangrove island that was holding a ton of snook and redfish.

For the ladyfish, if you cut them up and throw them out, youll get hits from snook and reds. Ladyfish are great bait for snook and reds, especially for big reds and big snook.

@@vortexgaming8245 Hey Vortex. I have a pretty affordable setup that has landed me a juvenile tarpon, big reds, big snook, tons of trout, jacks, etc. I bought a 7 foot medium action 2 piece Shakespear Ugly Stik used for bass fishing. I have a 4000 series Okuma Trio with 20 pound braid by suffix performance yellow hi-vis. Yeah, the snook didn't care about the color of my braid. I use 20 lb suffix fluorocarbon leader, about 3-4 feet with a uni to uni knot connecting both. This part matters a lot. Your fluorocarbon leader, if too short or too heavy, can cause you to lose fish. If the water is really really clear, heavy fluoro leader, like 30, 40, and 50, can be seen by the snook. So, I have a happy medium of 20#. I have brought in some good sized snook and reds with 20# leader. You have to know how to fight these fish. The easiest way to fish is with a clacker bobber with 30-40# fluoro leader and a 2/0 or 3/0 circle hook and use cut bait that you caught near the area you are fishing. Chum the area with cut bait, or live as done in this video, and throw out the bobber. When the bobber goes down and stays down, start reeling. DO NOT PULL. Circle hooks snag the corner of the mouth of w/e fish ate your bait. J hooks can be pulled cuz that's how tehy get set. There's videos on how circle hooks work here on the youtubez. Tight lines!
