In all seriousness, I used to think that it was a too-easy cliche that homophobic men actually have unresolved gay feelings of their own, but the longer I live the more thousands of examples of this I’ve seen. I always used to wonder, “What the hell is the threat? Where’s all this hate coming from?” Now I think in the vast majority of cases it really is that these people feel threatened.

And btw, at the risk of getting too graphic with this topic, over the years I’ve heard so many examples of homophobic attacks involving rape - with sort of a “Let’s teach this f*ck*ng f*gg*t a lesson!” attitude. Quite apart from rape being a moral impossibility for me, I also think that, as a heterosexual man, I would find such a thing literally physically impossible - as in, I don’t think I could ever get my equipment to function for that task, if you know what I mean. Again, apologies for getting so graphic, but maybe you can see my point: for so many this aggressive homophobia seems so clearly connected to conflicted/repressed sexuality on the part of the attacker.

But you see what I was trying to do - somehow to isolate the issue: morality aside, even if I somehow wanted to, I physically couldn’t just for orientation reasons. I also know it’s axiomatic that sexual assault is more about power and aggression than sexual lust, and that obscures my attempted point, but still it just seems to me there has to be some underlying issue of sexual interest for the basic equipment to function at all.

Something that I love about The Onion is that sometimes even through it's satire you can actually learn about a given situation. Gay prostitution to Republicans is a real phenomenon and it's simply exaggerated/extended here for comedic effect. It's just authentic enough to make The Onion resemblant to an actual news channel even when the stories are ridiculously bizarre.

What exactly are they doing that's so called hypocrisy. Specifically today because 10 years ago just because you had self hatred doesn't mean it wasn't justified considering the lack of self acceptance that would destroy their life. A lot of people have porn kinks they would never tell a soul yet feel disgusted by. You know what else is hypocrisy is people claiming outing people is horrible but then wanting their political opponents outed because their also seen as hypocritical for no supporting gay people. People should able to hate things about themselves even if others don't without it being used against them. It's like a person who once tried to commit suicide claiming that suicide is cowardice then being found out they tried to commit before and so you use that against them for the same of an argument. It's just wrong even if you don't agree with them. One self hatrd often has their own reasons that another person should not use against them.

Point being just because someone does something whether it be a vice or an addiction or an urge it doesn't mean they promote it or agree with it It just means they're self-aware enough to see the problem whether you agree it's a problem or not. Another good example is people assume people that are gay just automatically agree with the LGBTQ agenda which a lot don't especially the trans part in specifically referencing it being pushed into children. Plenty of gay people aren't part of that community.

It is someone saying suicide is bad so everyone who has attempted suicide or is currently suicidal should be shunned by society, kept away from children, and or put in jail to be punished for being suicidal. And obviously this person hides they have been suicidal so they can move through the world safely while drafting laws to punish people just like him who have not hidden. Also suicidal is a harmful state of mind that is painful. Being gay is not that so long as others don’t persecute you or convince you it is shameful or wrong. It isn’t a mental illness because being gay doesn’t cause distress in and of itself. Your family, community, or church hating you and calling it evil is what causes distress.

When comedy news is more accurate than actual news reports.
