As someone who's been around numerous pit bulls... I thought this video was funny. That being said... it's sort of a mix between the owners and the dog that's the issue. Pitts make great guard dogs. Hence they tend to be guard dogs. Hence they make up a large portion of dog attacks. Now that being said... they have a sort of switch. It's something that you just learn when you're around them. Sure you can be his friend, but you need to be his master. A big issue is females getting put bulls. These are strong dogs. If you weigh less than 150lbs, I don't even care if is pure muscle, you will not be able to keep it from attacking someone or something. Don't get it. Yes pitbulls CAN be friendly and loving and sweet. But they are more prone to attacking than other dogs are. They're more territorial, more aggressive, and while yes they are loyal that also means they're looking for anything that can be seen as a threat. If you aren't physically capable of holding this dog down do not get one. They ARE good dogs, most of the hate that gets levied their way IS unfairly placed, a lot of it IS because they are raised as guard dogs and because of people who think raising a pit is gonna be the same as a retriever. But they are still much more prone to aggression than other breeds. People say it's the owners, and for the most part that's true. But I'd say it's the owners not realizing that what they're raising isn't a chiwawa or a golden retriever. It's a dog that was bred to fight. Nurture > nature but pretending like nature isn't there is a good way to end up sued.
