Nobody forced them to go to college or sign a loan and they are, with some exception, astonishingly stupid. They don't know who was in the civil war, how WW2 started or where "Pearl Harbor"is. I seen videos of people asking them questions like. If you are in a car going 50MPH how long does it take you to get to the next town that is 50 miles away? The answers ranged from, "I'm not good at math" to "I don't know, I live in a city" to "2 hours". Are you freaking kidding me? And we are stuck with the bill for this level of incompetence?

Actually it is the students responsibility to pay their own loans. The colleges could use their endowment for incentives or scholarships. The government should not use taxpayer funds to support colleges or pay off student loans.

We are ALL being crushed. And these people (students) are only being crushed because they FREELY entered into a contract to pay back their student loans. We, the taxpayers, did NOT enter into a contract to pay their student loans. Nor should we.

The students many of whom are 68 yrs old, never tried. I paid mine of in my 20's. Lived very cheap & paid all my bills & never complained to anyone, about having to work. The ppl i know, who refused to pay their loans, never even tried to pay them.

@@jglee6721 Sadly, they will probably go up even more before next January. I have even resorted to rechargeable batteries but, they are pretty horrible run time wise. There seems to be a no win scenario other than take the money and run situation. Over all, the cost of everything is insane. A decent loaf of bread is near $5.00 bucks now. Even making your own bread may be the same price if not more now. It is depressing.

The reason higher education is so expensive is because government has been subsidizing colleges allowing these school to spend money recklessly making the schools outrageously expensive. Cut federal funding of schools and these universities will be forced to cut costs and become efficient.

If a doctor or lawyer will help the poor elderly people for free for a given length of time, I have no problem with the government subsidizing a person's education. But why should taxpayers pay for the tuition through a post secondary loan. This is unconstitutional but Biden does not care.

Groceries are not 5% or 9% or 20% higher compared to 2019, they are DOUBLE... a 100% increase for me. A full grocery cart for my family was $200 +/- $50. Now it's $400 +/- $50. Been like this for years now.

Student loan borrowers "are literally being crushed." Yeah....by their own choices to go to colleges and universities with outrageous tuitions. Clearly stated tuitions paid by loans with clearly stated interest rates. The elephant in the room is a pretty big one: how about tackling the COST of education? Like...have colleges and universities forgive or forego payment of certain amounts of tuition. Better yet, trim the top-heavy administrations of these universities and perhaps the costs will actually go down. I don't even see where the federal government has standing to "forgive" loans. If there isn't a finding of fraud in the loan process and there's no agreement with the student for, say, 10 years of public service in exchange for forgiveness, then there's no basis. These people are asinine. If they get loan forgiveness, I want my mortgage debt erased too. I don't have a realistic basis for it but it's still more than what the students have.
