    Great Result! The little Beatle came out great. And on grass in your Garden or on Sand at the beach there should nothing bad happen to the body. Enjoy your work, however it gives you the maximum joy, and if this means staring and dusting, so stare and dust, enjoy👍🍻

    You had the sense to just do 1 , I for some reason did 2 at once 🤪🤪🤪 . I even added to the madness by adding a pinstripe between the colours . Glutton for punishment lol. Will drop you some pics Glenn. The alloy bits certainly finish it off really nicely. Try a Molotow chrome marker pen to paint wheel centres. Should make it a little closer to the rims . Your scorcher now looks very sweet indeed. Nice job fella. All the best from sunny Torquay

    Looks awesome! You need to get yourself some extra body kits and have a few more goes at it with some different colours..! 😉😁 Keep this one on the shelf, use the rough rider chassis as the runner with some different bodies on it. That is what I have now, 4 kits (two each still sealed), 10 body kits 5 of each, one shelf chassis with the 3 style srb bodies, one runner chassis with 3 bodies that I got used, so if they get damaged, just repair them. 😎😎

    I'm with you on the choice to run the car. I always build my cars with the intention to run them but, honestly, after I've invested countless hours trying to make them as close to perfect as I can, they almost never touch the ground. So they'll go onto the shelf and I'm on to the next project which, of course, will definitely be a runner (yeah, right). Anyway, another great build series, thanks for posting your videos Glenn.

Some gentle running on a low grip surface, if you feel brave. I'd get another body, leave it unpainted and I've seen some stickers on ebay for the blue bits.

    Awesome Glenn, just a quick tip for future builders of the SS or hard shell bodies in particular when it comes to the painting.....after spending time masking and then spraying, including the black separating pin stripe lines on the roof(if you put them on like i did)....after finishing spraying the colour coats, make any slight adjustments needed, by scraping and touching up using a very fine brush dipped in the left over spray paint..rather than spraying again, and then flatten the whole body off using the very finest wet and dry you can find 2000 grit or higher 4000???....what you will end up with is a very dull body but very smooth and that also includes where you touched the paint up or made adjustments, once you've flattened off....and a dab of water helps if i remember right, thoroughly clean the body off of dust, dry cloth, damp cloth and let dry completely so its extremely clean, then and only then apply the stickers which will also be protected by the next step.....then get some clear coat laquer, and in perfectly dry and dust free conditions blast the body with a couple of coats of clear coat laquer allowing it to be touch dry between ooats............and boooom......you'll have a gleaming body where the colours look really deep but also shine like the sun like a million dollar sports car that had been wrapped and waxed with the finest products!!

  • @cg7025

    @cg7025

    2 жыл бұрын

    When i did mine, after flattening off with wet and dry....i wondered if i had made a mistake because what appeared to be almost a perfect sparkling paint job...now seemed very dull indeed.....i took the advice i was given and carried on, after thoroughly cleaning it off of dust and finger prints i applied the stickers i had chose in the places i wanted them, gave it a final clean to remove finger prints off the stickers etc and then sprayed with clear coat.....i was amazed how the clear coat deepened the colout and the shine/gloss it gave to the body. :)

  • @cg7025

    @cg7025

    2 жыл бұрын

    I must stress....in regard to the original colour coats, make sure you have done at least two, maybe three good coats of paint(but not to the point it runs or is too thick....and left to dry between each coat.....this is so when you use the wet and dry to flatten off the paint you wont be "scraping" through just one thin coat of paint. Use extremely high and very fine wet and dry so you get an ultra smooth surface without any scratches.....the finished flattened off body should look smooth but dull...before cleaning off of dust and applying stickers and then the clear coat laquer.

    That is awsome mate, seriously I could not run that car after spending all that time on it, Tamiya for me these days is about modelling and not about bashing, I now collect.. those wheels and cages really are the finishing touch and I hear what you say about that white paint, it does make it look old, love it 👍

    I understand about not wanting to run it. All that time spent making it look just the way you want it to and the risk of driving it around and ruining it can make it be just a display piece. I used to be a a shelf queen hater years ago but the more cars I get and spend the time on making them look good the more and more I am fine with just enjoying the building and collecting part. Running it just to make folks happy isn't worth it. If they want to see one run that bad they can spend a week building and painting their own!! It looks great and I love the slightly off white look, it does give it that old kit vibe!

    It looks absolutely awesome mate, it's one of the best looking RC cars of all time! And as for running it, do you really want to? If you don't. then don't, whatever you do do not bow down to pressure from other people just to please them. Personally I'd run it, but I'm not you, and I don't have one of these, so if your viewers don't like it then it's tough poop!! Awesome video as always, please keep 'em coming👍👍

I found on grass it does a C lot less damage if you get carried away. You could get a second body . When you are in your new place then maybe you could improve the lighting.

    I usually do two body sets one to run one to display That being said IDK if I’ll do a second body for mine still deciding unlike my Anniversary Porsche I’ve never driven a sand scorcher/ rough rider/ etc. I also picked up a set of same size front and rear alloy wheels for it but that builds still on the back burner my Optima Mid finally showed up & that’s the next build I am not only planning to run it I’m going to do at least one indoor carpet race with it just for 💩’s & 🤭 unlike the Sand Scorcher I have raced the OnRoad Touring Car version of the Optima Mid back in the day and have plenty of vintage hop-up hopefully they fit
