Tamiya DF-03ra - Datsun 240Z - new drive-train 4600kV brushless (Datsun 240Z adventures #7)
First offroad experience after installing a new esc/motor-combo: the waterproof Castle Creations sidewinder 3 with 4600kV.
I am very satisfied with that combo, motor stays absolutely cool and the esc too, even though it's dust covered without cooling.
Some scenes appear like fast forwarded, but it's the real speed...
Only disadvantage of this combo is, that the sensorless system is not very accurate to control in very slow speed (very smooth starts are impossible). But for an offroad race machine as my Datsun is, it doesn't matter at all ;-)
Unfortunately the body shell got some non repairable hits, may I should build a new one?!

Brilliant! I love the paint on the body, the way the car goes and handles, and the mixture of shots you used to give us the impression of tremendous speed coupled with elegant control...
great vid man! it looked straight up real in many parts. haha. and I like that weathering paint job!
That Datsun's having fun !! Nice video, keep up the good work
Continuez....
Excellent video. Great driving.
Brilliant... you are very good at making it seem like a real car...very clever filming.
That thing is crazy fast, great video. :)
Nicely edited. Enjoyed that.
Straight 70s flasback LMBO Luv the vid!
Ist wieder einmal super geworden! Du machst wirklich gute Videos!
damn that was a great into with some fitting cool music!
Awesome video, once again!
I'm a big fan! GREAT
This is superb footage and editing!! I like your video me too.
Great movie! Love it!!
That is mental. love it.
That thing is gorgeous how do you get the patina in the paint? I'd put that on my desk at work and never drive it.
WOW, great job!!!
Another Great Adventure! Asplenia.
Great video. I've been running my DF-03RA [Lancia Delta Integrale] with a 9t EzRUN combo for almost 7 years without any dramas. I fitted the slipper clutch upgrade but its more a precaution than a necessity. The only negative about this kit is the battery compartment restricts you to stick pack style LiPos and the fact you have to mash / bendthe battery leads a bit to get them to fit.
awesome video :)
Nice video :) My vintage version was never as fast as yours!
THX bro :-)
Have you still got this car/chassis? I love mine! I'm only just getting used to one (or 3 😜) and would love to see some new videos of yours, i love your videos of it! 😎👌 P.s I've subbed you so hopefully ill see any new videos of it straight away 😅
I. Love. This.
Nice videos, SUBSCRIBED!
Hi there ! Great car !! VERY NICE PAINTJOB !! What rims and tires are these ?
Real cool!
it's all controlled by modules purchased at cti-modellbau.de. Reverse & breaking lights are controlled by module "PS2BR". Main lights, signal lights and emergeny lights are controlled by module "PS4BU" by use of a 3rd channel.
nice vid!!
great job, just like other vids
To the intro is epic
Wow, this is great. How can you detail the body like that and then bear to bash it up like that??! I have one and I am going to paint it like yours but with green where the blue is.
I love what you did to "repair" the grill. Are you still playing with this car? Your build fires my imagination, I imagine a simple one bar pipe bumper in front. And some patches here and there, repairs, a little primer over some of the rust. A "freshening up" ready for more action. Now, I'm not suggesting anything, as it's your car and I bet you have it just the way you like it, please don't take this as any kind of negative comment. Anyway, really cool car and great videography, thanks for sharing these videos.
good video
How exactly did you fit a brushless into the DF-03 chassis? I'm trying with mine but I have to grind material and I have no idea where to grind.
That’s how you run a car !!!!!
What are the shocks? Are they Tamiya std cva oil shocks? And are they threaded for quick adjustments? And are the springs soft, hard? Please be specific. I have the XB version of this car. Its on a TT01 chassis. Unfortunately the shocks are friction only and the springs are too stiff. So the ride is terribly bumpy when offroad. Looking for softer oil shocks. Not sure what exactly to get. I'm using Kyosho rally blocks. Love the 240z!

yes, this are the stock CVA oil shocks what came with the kit. hardness of front springs are soft, rear springs are middle. oil is 600 I guess, so also middle viscosity. the standard tamiya CVA dampers made of plastic are a very good choice! this setup is good for both terrains, on- and offroad. the tires are any low-cost no name products, unfortunately a bit hard, but makes fun with them onroad, because it's easy to do some perfect drifts with higher speed :-)
how much ground clearance do you have, just got a Alpine A110 and working out the ride height for some off road fun like that, great video

Ray Allen I don't know... the wheels are a bit larger than the standart Tamiya wheels. There is also a difference to the chassis what you are using. The Alpine is M-chassis: much smaller wheels and overall size is smaller - result is less ground clearance.
Great job - what videocamera did U film with?

iphone 5. But meanwhile I film with iphone 5s: it's excelent because of 120p/s! Just check out my latest uploads ;-)
I just installed a 5700kv castle sidewinder 3 on my DF03RA and just ran it and within 1 minute my slipper clutch gear got shredded I was just wondering what drivetrain upgrades did you do to yours
@diplomat3000

I don't have a slipper clutch or any upgrades, but the rear differential has to get a lot of maintenance and new parts, since I got the sidewinder combo. Tipp: fasten the diff srew and nut not to loose and fix it with screw-cement (prevents disadjusting while driving).
I was so drunk i thought this was a real car until halfway through the video
What do you think are the best off road tires for 26mm wide wheels, for traction?

Tamiya rally block tires
I was tricked, but I still enjoyed it
yes, but than the turning signal would work each time changing the direction - looks not too realistic.
Echt, wahnsinn!
Lmfao the drifts
Sorry, I don't understand this ;-) Could you please try in english ...:-)
aw yes it realy works like a real car ok go get a1 u weirdo if u can afford lol
