Tamiya 1/35 Valentine Mk II/IV Model Tank Review, this kit is only a few years old and has some of the best features from newer Tamiya kits, two very nicely sculpted figures, link and length tracks, easy construction and a great subject from the Second World War.

Cool ! I'm looking forward to following along with your build! I really should be picking up this kit, because, as far as I know, all of the Lend Lease Valentines destined for the Soviet Union were manufactured in my country (..Canada..) I think the steel & some parts came from my home town (..Hamilton, Ontario..), and the milling, casting, and assembly took place in another city (Montreal, Quebec?). Further along, after manufacture of Valentines & derivatives ceased, I believe that high grade steel for other weapons (Bren Guns, Sherman tanks, ships, etc., etc.) was provided by Canada. Regarding the casting texture, one thing I have noticed in photos is that earlier versions of most Allied AFVs were rougher than later ones, while the reverse applied to German vehicles. The cast texture on a lot of Soviet AFVs could be positively gnarly, but that varied by stage of the war, as well as factory. Also, the roughness of rolled steel armour did/does increase as the thickness of the armour, so the early rolled armour on AFVs tended to be smoother. And, yes indeed, a lot of museum pieces had/have surfaces that have been eroded significantly over the years, and then just painted over, so both cast and rolled steel armour could end up much rougher than what actually existed on the original AFVs.

I found this a really really great kit to make. You should have a blast. Think I got carried away though as was enjoying myself so much and misaligned the tracks on one side, meaning that they stuck out and then the side skirts didn't join as well as they should. I'd recommend taking time with this part. But really it's a great kit

Awesome video 👍 built it and changed just some of it . There's a photo of the valentine with it's headlights turned around with packs on it I really liked that picture although I think Tamiya made the headlights a tad smaller. Anyway fantastic build its Tamiya. Looking forward to your build 👍

Good review of this awesome kit from Tamiya!!! Have built this kit and it went together just fine - no problems whatsoever but take your time with the suspension. I built it as a British version and found a kit of British Desert Infantry that are molded as riders on the tank. Think the infantry set came from Airfix. My only complaint with this kit is lack of choice for British markings but guess that is what aftermarket is for.

Yes it's a good kit but think it's a bit over priced 😔. Needs to be around 10 pounds cheaper. 👍
