The Tokyo Sky Tree's "central pillar" was designed based on traditional earthquake-resistant technology found in the construction of five-story pagodas in Japan, and in the event of an earthquake, this central pillar acts to offset the shaking of the tower's perimeter. They can withstand a magnitude 8.0 earthquake.

As an Albertan, the Calgary Tower was my favourite childhood tourist attraction. As an adult, it still is... Same goes for the Seattle Space Needle and the monorail...

I’ve been in the Fernsehturm, the Space Needle, the CN Tower, and the Tokyo Skytree. All very interesting places. Would love to check off a few more on this list at some point. I’ve been to a few of the places that the others are in, but just didn’t get a chance to actually go up in them.

We live in Seattle and are heading to Tokyo at the end of the month. We still haven't been to the top of the space needle, and SkyTree and Tokyo Tower are on our list to see :).

3:15 Except for some official documents, no one calls this tower "Europaturm". Built as "Fernmeldeturm Frankfurt", it is mainy called (Ginnheimer) Fernsehturm or more informal Ginnheimer Spargel (Ginnheim Asparagus).

In Buenos Aires there is the "Space Tower", which is 228m high 😊👍🏻

The Space Needle was always my choice for my birthday dinner. We'd arrive early enough to see the sunset and watch the downtown lights come on. Good memories.

Tower of the Americas in San Antonio Texas is missing from this list. It looks similar to Calgary Tower and is taller than that and Space Needle at 750ft tall.

That tower is built on a hill, it's difficult to compare its height with other towers.
