I am from Croatia (189 cm)and am just little bit taller then average, but in general we are tall people, just like our Slav neighbours Slovenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia and Montenegro. We share the same or similar genes, so it is normal. We are much taller then, for example Italians

I'm 182 cm (around 6ft), from Serbia with Montenegrin origin from both of the parents. Here I feel average when I go on the streets but when I visit my family back in Montenegro, I really feel humbled because most of my family members there are taller than 185. Also, I've been to Italy (North) and I think even 177+ is quite rare there, Italians seem like the shortest nation in Europe, especially anywhere southern than Rome. Cool video :)

@@ernar8926 It varies from region to region. The northern population has stronger Celtic and some Germanic influence, which affects their height significantly. The more southern you go - the more "native" Italians you encounter. They have much stronger Mediterranean admixture, a lot of southern Italians carry Greek and Middle Eastern genes, as well as north African Moorish admixture (established in the peninsula during the early Roman empire). Nowadays migrations from South to North are very common and many Italians got mixed, also Rome being the capital attracts people from both sides, as well as foreigners who sometimes marry in Italy, thus changing the dna furthermore.

I am a man from the Netherlands. The Netherlands has the Tallest men in the world. The average length is correct that is indicated in this video. I am 1.90M / 6.23 Ft myself and 1 in 17 men are also my size. So I don't really stand out here in the Netherlands. 1 in 25 men are 2.00M / 6.6Ft. I see when I go abroad that the men are very small. But being big doesn't always have its advantages. The world is not prepared for this length like car, clothes, furniture, airplane, theater, bed, sinks and I can go on like this for hours. Often it just fits or doesn't fit. p.s. video is very nice made with nice music, thanks. Keep it up.

Yes! Many years ago I belonged to a group called "Tall Gay Agenda". You had to be 185 or taller to belong. I'm 185 so I was usually the shortest person there. IT WAS FUCKING WONDERFUL!!! And yes, my posture that evening was superb because I didn't have to bend😊. For the first time in my life I'm with a guy taller than me. He's 195 and I swear my posture has improved.

I recently met Filipino on social media who mocked that Indonesia was the country with the shortest average height in the world, I mean it's true that Indonesia was once in that position. but without him realizing it, his country is even below Indonesia now.

I'm Brazilian, 1.94 cm, height varies a lot depending on the region. For example: in the south they are usually taller because of the strong European influence (German and Italian) and in the north they are shorter because of many people of indigenous origin. Me being black, I'm in the middle ground.

Autochthonous from Dinaric Alps (independent from nationality) have been always the tallest in the world. And yes 90% of Dinaric Alps were part of ex-Yugoslavia. Dutch exploded last 100 years thanks to their diet. Albanians from Alps are equal taller to Dutch people. Go for a coffee in the Koplik and you will feel shorter than in Amsterdam

I remember standing at the tourist bus stop by the Dead Sea in Israel (could not go down, as my eyes hurt, so had to wait for my group upstairs), and there was a varied international crowd there. Japanese, Germans, Senegalese, Russians, you name it. . . When two Dutch guys passed, they were a head over everybody else! (I guessed their nationality by their orange shirts, and by their height as well, of course.)

Glad I'm 1,90m. Where I'm from (North East Germany) about 1 in 10 people is my height of taller. Living in Dubai now and having lived in London for 11 years I am aware how rare it is to be 1,90m.

188 cm tall from Serbia and I`m just slightly taller than average. I think that average height here will skyrocket in next 10-20 years because the old generations were significantly shorter ( I believe it is because the lack of nutrition as country was really poor ) . My father is only 165 cm for example, and these kids today are huge , I see 14 year old's that are 190 and above. Girls too, my niece (17 ) is 180 cm and she wears 43 size shoes just like me 😀. She says there are 3 girls taller than her in her class.

EX-YU is high on the list but specific parts behind the sea coast is where really tall people are from. Dalmatia, Hercegovina and north of Montenegro all in one line on the map in this parts most people are really 200cm. Somebody wrote somewhere that Trebinje is place with tallest average in the world. Go to that regions and you will need no list ever again.

Actually, only old Herzegovinian parts of Montenegro have astonishingly tall people (190+ cm). In north-eastern parts of Montenegro, people tend to be taller than 180 cm but rarely above 195 cm, since the Dinnaric Alps are not as prominent as they are in the Western parts of the country, the people there lack the genetical admixture the Herzegovinians have. My father's sids of the family (West MNE) is around ~10 cm taller than my mum's male cousins (north-eastern MNE). 🙂

There are more options. What ages were condidered here? Old people will significantly pull down the average. Young people have more food and health support making young people much taller than old.

Iam from India. In India people are different Northern state Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan and Kashmir are tall. In south Kerala, Karnataka are average height 170 above 👍🏿👍🏿

I think it's more accurate to include and or correct the rankings that the shortest among the said people from are the Guatemalans,Laotians,Hmong People,The Pygmies (Negroes) people from the Philippines and in certain Africa Bush people or Pygmies also and the Peruvians..(This source are from the well traveled and very observant family travelers around the globe for more than a decades now)

So Puerto Ricans are taller than mainland US inhabitants? Senegaleses are often very tall, I'm suprised they're not higher.

It's a lie. Kazakhs are much higher than Koreans, and put them in the ranking below growth. When the Kazakhs come to Korea, then there are no clothes in stores there, because Koreans are all much lower. The average growth of men of Kazakhs is more than 180 cm

I am from Somalia (189 cm] and still growing inshallah however the vast majority are taller then 171 cm which just random average height ,,,,, we have a lot of 7 foot tall somalis in horn of africa and women who are tall to who in return are having children with in their own ethnic group which makes us strong viva somalis💪🏾

I saw footnotes to the data on these websites with Mexicans always including their senior citizen aged population while a majority of these other countries only use men at their tallest height or men in their 20s and 30s plus footnotes claiming that shoes might have been on when being measured plus some data saying self reported. I have been to Mexico and in my experience the white population of the USA where I live in South central Pennsylvania seems only taller on average than Mexicans in southern Mexico like Chiapas for example. In central Mexico, the Mexicans for atleast their young adults seem atleast as tall on average as us white Americans where I live in the USA and in these northern states like Chihuahua, Sonora and Baja California Mexicans seem taller on average than with us white Americans in my area of the USA. But white American in the USA are noticeably taller in the midwest of the USA than here in south central Pennsylvania probably because they have a high percentage of Scandinavian ancestry so even in the USA it varies by region with just the white or European population.

@@midnight-2021 and also something that affects to the height differences in Mexico is the heritage, the native population in the north was quite taller than the natives in the south, also the central Mexico received more European migration like Spaniards or French making us considerable taller than the southern almost 100% native.

@cender4357 read that online with people doing research saying that the European colonists described the natives in what is today southern Mexico as short in height with the natives in what is today central America and their countries being described as the Pygmy of the Americas. But these European colonists described in what is today the northern regions of Mexico and in the Great Plains of the USA as tall people with some saying that quite a few looked like giants. For white or European people in the USA the white population is generally short on average in New Jersey with a majority of these Europeans being of southern Italian ancestry, especially Sicilian but when you go to the midwest like in Minnesota the European Americans are mostly tall with these European Americans predominantly Scandinavians or from northern regions of Germany with ancestry.

I'm a Sri Lankan 5'10" (1.78) and I wish if I was at least 6 more inches taller.

this is quite interesting, i was there (Greece) and the girls are mostly short (athens), I was very surprised about it since the statistics says something totaly diferent and surely they are Greek girl by the look; I've been in other countries as well and see the diference.

A lot of tall people in my experience in the midwest, especially Minnesota and the Dakotas but in the northeast, especially New Jersey most look short.

I am from France 189cm , 19 year old 7 months. I gained 2cm in the last 12 months wich is mindblowing because I stopped growing at 15. Hopefully I still grow until 21 to reach like 190-195cm. Last year I grew after 4 years of 0cm increase , drinking a lot of milk and cheese. Doctors said I was going to be 2 meter minimum , at 13 I was a giant (183cm) and then grew so slow

Funny thing is I was so tall at 13 , 14 eating unhealthy and was growing like crazy , then I hit the gym and lost weight with perfect diet , I grew so slow and stopped growing for many years also

@@signmaindividual4016 Lifting weights affects growth in adolescence. It's better to lift weights intensely at the age of 18 years or more. I am now 24 years 3 months from Asia. My height is around 166 cm since the end of my high school. At that time I really wanted to be at least 170 cm tall. I have tried to consume milk and jump rope.

Mexico's average height is 170 cm for men? Than why did I feel so short in their northern states with myself being 170 cm man from the USA? I think that they included senior citizens in their data while most countries only include their young adults. Plus Mexico varies widely from region to region and 170 cm is probably accurate in their southern states and probably 175 cm or slightly higher in central Mexico and easily over 180 cm in northern Mexico. Not sure how much taller than 180 cm since I am only 170 cm myself making it too hard to guess since I am so short when compared with these northern Mexicans.

I visited Nepal a long time ago. Nice memories.❤Well... one of them is, while walking in Katmandu I "realized" that with my 174 cm height, I was a tall person‼😜😂🖐

I'm a 15-year-old girl and I'm an inch and a half taller than the average man in my country (US). I'm 5'11" and I'm German and Swedish. If you look at the average height of women in the US, Germany, and Sweden, I'm a giant. If you look at the average height for men I'm a lot closer to average. Always hitting my head on stuff, can't find clothes that fit me, and barely fit in my own bed. Can't imagine what it's like for my dad, he's 6'4" 😅

Im from poland did not know its top15 in the world. Im 190cm and this was considered very high like 10-15years ago my father 1.8m and mother 175cm. Now i see more and more ppl of my size.

Not quite accurate. Probably only the top 20 is. Northern, Eastern , central Europeans quite tall. The rest I doubt.

Hola soy Argentino y nunca supe de dónde salieron estos datos ...a mí jamás me citaron a medirme ...si es una muestra representativa lo hicieron con un conjunto muy reducido de personas así que no es confiable el informe. Aquí en Argentina hay estaturas muy dispares ...antes cuando existía el servicio militar obligatorio te median y anotaban los datos y hacían el servicio militar todos los varones de 18 años en aquella época si era confiable y el promedio era de 1,75 m

And among Chinese from China, those from the North are usually tall. I have a colleague from China standing at 1.88m. Then his friend, also from Northern China, standing at 1.90m. But those from the South are generally shorter, like the minority groups with the same heritage as the Thais or Laos, prob about 1.65m. So I guess the average height in China at abt 1.75m should be right.

The Dinaric mountain range is located within Croatian ethnic territories both in Croatia as well as Bosnia. Serbs as a whole are east of the Drina river and are not connected to the Dinaric type. CROATS from Croatia combined with Croats from Bosnia and (in particular) Herzegovina are the tallest men in the Balkans.

I feel like overall that people in the USA and Canada are taller on average then in Mexico but the Mexicans in the northern border states are taller on average IMO and experience than the USA and Canada. Mexicans in their southern states are noticeably shorter than in the USA and Canada. Must be a mix of newer immigrants from central America and that the native tribes in southern Mexico being short on average as well. Central Americans from Honduras, El Salvador, Guatemala etc are usually short.

Your ranking for North Korean men is way off the March. While there is no study of the height of N. Korean men of women the average height has been calculated at 5ft 5 inches for men. This figure is based on information from varies sources, like defectors, visitors, S. Koreans who have family in the North etc. The extreme lack of nutrition available in the North greatly impacts the height of the people in a country and North Korea is extremely malnourished. Where ever you got this information they are either ignorant or there sources and very questionable.

If the data said NK have small dxcks u would believe the data but when their avg height came out to be around 5'9", u suddenly dont believe the data?

Most important is that we are 2 mm higher than Serbs - greetings from Zagreb. :) I guess genetic heritage of proto-Europeans (Balkan area and Scandinavia - haplogroups I1 and I2) is the reason why people from Balkan and Scandinavia are tall.
