that's not antenna but spires Height is measured from the level of the lowest, significant, open-air, pedestrian entrance to the architectural top of the building, including spires, but not including antennae, signage, flag poles or other functional-technical equipment.

I don't think One World Trade Center deserves to be ranked at the spot where it is, due to how short it is, even shorter than Central Park tower. To me, the spire should not have counted as it's not an occupant part of the building. Spires shouldn't have been used to rank building heights. It's not a true ranking. I love 1WTC, but to be fair, they should have went beyond the 1776 ft to make it true to it's ranking.

I used the database from skyscrapercenter and they explained about height of the buildings. Height is measured from the level of the lowest, significant, open-air, pedestrian entrance to the architectural top of the building, including spires, but not including antennae, signage, flag poles or other functional-technical equipment. This measurement is the most widely utilized and is employed to define the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH) rankings of the "World's Tallest Buildings."

why is the sears tower the ONLY building on the list that is measured by it's roof and not it's antenna or spire! it would be #8!
