Lately I've been using Tortex Jazz III 1.14's. Tortex is my favorite material and the thickness is just right imo.. stiff enough for the small size but a bit of give that I prefer.

I've been using Jazz III picks for 30 yrs or so...Used to be the red nylon back when I first got turned on to them by my guitar teacher(I think thats all they had back then) and then I tried Dunlop stubby 1.0 for a while(Might wanna give those a try for kicks!!) Then they made these tortex ones that came in bulk called H3 I used cause they were cheap, and once I found ULTEX the search was OVER!!!! I've been on them for 15 years or more...But Now Graphtech makes jazz shaped picks that I like for certain situations. Give those a looksee! They have a multi-pack with 3 guages/and 3 different materials.

@@GASTV Jazz III is the 3rd gen. and has the sharpest point back in the jazz or Jazz II days they had rounder tips.

D'Andrea Pro Plec, 1.5mm, played with the pick turned to the rounder edge, not the sharp point. Perfect warm jazz tone on flat wound strings that are not a "light" gauge, even with a strat.

I favour the D'Andrea Pro Plec range of picks and have them in 5 different shapes/sizes. My favourite is the smallest teardrop, but I like them all but the largest. They've been making picks since the 1920s - starting, I think, with real tortoise shell (now illegal), and then moving to real celluloid (the kind used in old movie film that could eventually spontaneously combust as it aged), also now illegal due to fire hazard. They use some form of plastic now. I ordered mine direct from the company, which is in New York. BUT my pick preference varies depending on the strings I am using on my archtop. I find I prefer different pick materials - with half-round strings, I prefer the D'Andrea Pro Plecs by far because I don't hear any clicking on the strings and they give me the warmest attack. For heavy flatwounds, I'm less certain, still liking the D'Andrea, but also the Dunlop Ultrex, Primetones, and especially thick Tortex. I also like jazz shaped picks made of delrin plastic, although they have less volume. Thanks for your video, interesting and little discussed topic - like your playing very much!
