Lee Sedol 9p has a really good point, and maybe it's obvious, but I had not fully realized it before now: Players used to develop their own moves and styles. Now everyone just copies from AI. It feels like something has been lost.

@@ThreenGumb True, but he obviously had immense love and passion for the game. Given how much professionals have to study, especially in their childhoods, once they retire, their life probably feels a bit empty. I'm sure they quickly fill it with other things though, and I'm sure Lee Sedol found things to do

Very interesting, thank you for sharing with written translation. It must be hard to find something new when you were at the top of the world at a young age. That’s sport’s fate. Some finance and co-manage a restaurant, that may be quite rewarding, and it keeps you busy.

I have no idea that Lee Sedol was into boardgame design, I'm looking forward to play his designs someday , tho korean board games are hard to get in my country. I don't know if Lee Sedol would ever read this comment, but something "not go related" he can do on youtube (and i totally would watch) is playthrough other modern boardgames, waching him play 'agricola', 'ticket to ride', 'cascasonne', etc would be fun. Also if he is into board game design i think he could share he's thoughts about about his own design process or other people's games, there is a board game designer called Jamey Stegmaier who does that.

Soft spoken, very strong will, blunt yet not rude. I'm guilty of copying AI opening preparation - being able to use most of my time in the middle game is comfortable. While I believe the pros outweigh the cons, I can understand Lee Sedol's disappointment; there was a numinous property to the game prior to the advent of AI.

I love the admirable personalities of baduk players. Such is shown in that previous video with Shin Jin-Seo graciously returning a stone to where Park Mingyu originally placed it after Park Mingyu clearly made a mistake by letting the stone slide to somewhere else, or with Lee Sedol giving a measured and considerate response that reserves judgment on the suspected cheating through use of A.I. from Li Xuanhao. It's nice to hear Lee Sedol wants to give a proper farewell to China, Korea, and Japan~

I am Korean and I can say it certainly didn’t feel that way to me. I think Lee sedol was genuinely curious about Yeonwoo’s motivation for KZread because he genuinely was struggling to find a deep personal drive to pursue content creation, and shared that that was the case in a frank way, explaining to Yeonwoo that he was interested in KZread but has been on the fence because he’s not sure he has a deep personal goal to pursue in that area.
