Talbot Sunbeam Lotus RWD CRAZY Rally Car 😱 Rosati/Toccaceli (RSM) Tribute at RallyLegend San Marino

The Talbot Sunbeam Lotus of the San Marino crew Stefano Rosati / Sergio Toccaceli gives a great show every year at the Rally Legend. During the last editions, I have gathered a lot of video footage, and it's time to dedicate a tribute clip to them also because they have won the class victory several times. Their car is from 1980 and has group 4 tech specs. Taking a look at the more general history of the model, we recall that it derives from the Chrysler Sunbeam but under the elaboration of the Talbot participated in the world rally championship from 1979 to 1983, winning the constructors' title in 1981 thanks to the pilot's Guy Fréquelin, Stig Blomqvist and Henri Toivonen. Mechanically it's fitted with a naturally aspirated engine developed by Lotus (Type 911) from 2.2-Liter, 4-cylinder 16-valve, which develops 245hp and 256Nm of torque at 6,000 rpm. The 5-speed ZF gearbox, rear-wheel drive and a weight of only 1,000kg make it a high-speed and highly spectacular car.

La Talbot Sunbeam Lotus dell'equipaggio sanmarinese Stefano Rosati/Sergio Toccaceli ogni anno regala grande spettacolo al Rally Legend. Durante le ultime edizioni ho radunato molte riprese video ed è giunto il momento di dedicare loro un filmato tributo anche perchè più volte si sono aggiudicati la vittoria di classe. La loro auto è del 1980 ed ha specifiche gruppo 4. Dando un'occhiata alla storia più in generale del modello ricordiamo che deriva dalla Chrysler Sunbeam ma sotto l'elaborazione della Talbot partecipò al campionato del mondo rally dal 1979 al 1983 vincendo il titolo costruttori nel 1981 grazie ai piloti Guy Fréquelin, Stig Blomqvist e Henri Toivonen. Maccanicamente monta un motore aspiratosviluppato dalla Lotus (Tipo 911) da 2.2-Litri, 4 cilindri 16 valvole, che sviluppa 245cv e 256Nm di coppia a 6.000 giri/min. Il cambio ZF a 5 rapporti, la trazione posteriore ed un peso di soli 1.000kg la rendono un'auto estremamente veloce ed altamente spettacolare.

uuaauuuuu!!!! que diferencia, cuando era pequeño, mi padre tenia un talbot, y le costaba subir las subidas.. así de rally, es feroz, menudo diferencion

Creo que esta Talbot está muy bien preparada, como pueden ver, es muy fuerte. Si tu papá tuviera este motor, habría sido fácil ir a cualquier parte, incluso a las montañas 😅👍

My colleagues were driving the Talbot Simca in the early 1980s. The car was very good, it was a pleasure to drive. Unfortunately, the brand could not withstand the competition from VW Golf ..... It's a pity. But I watch your movie with great pleasure 👍

@@Italiansupercarvideo Bin 61" Baujahr, 1979 Führerschein gemacht. Die ersten Autos hatten alle CIBI Scheinwerfer dran, man will ja auch was sehen.😎 Heute haben die Matrix LED und regeln das Fernlicht von alleine. Früher ein mal vergessen früh genug abzublenden und und der Gegenverkehr wäre blind gewesen.🤦♂️

@@lutzhennecke6929 hahaha, ich kann mir diese szene nur vorstellen, es war eine gute zeit, heute ist es nicht möglich mit diesen zusätzlichen scheinwerfern auf der straße zu fahren
Impressive machine. The Dodge Omni it was derived from was never rear wheel drive. The stock 2.2 had ok power but reliability issues. On many the catalytic converter would run so hot that it would destroy the chassis! There was a Shelby version called the GLH with a turbo. Those are highly sought after but as a machine pale in comparison to this little beast.

The work that Talbot and Lotus did on the Chrysler Sunbeam was amazing; this rally car is a real gem, extremely powerful even for that time 👍

@@Italiansupercarvideo Beh, è il più vecchio lavoro del mondo, è la maggior produzione di reddito. Strano che non ci siano quotazioni a Wall Street... Riguardo alla Talbot Lotus, il mondiale vinto nel '81, lo conquistò con la configurazione del Gr.2, per poi diventare Gr.B e correre nei rally internazionali di minor importanza gli anni successivi. Non so come mai questa vettura del video abbia l'omologazione di Gr.4.

@@YuriBruschi Intanto grazie per le informazioni. So bene che la vittoria nel mondiale fu con la vettura del 1981 e quello che dici è corretto. Potrei benissimo aver scritto delle "boiate" e sono pronto a modificare. Ho fatto fatica a trovare informazioni su quest'auto, intendo questa qui di Rosati. Dall'elenco iscritti del Legend riporta come anno il 1981, potrebbero aver messo quello come numero di base e magari l'auto è più recente. Inoltre, vedendo quanto viaggia, sono abbastanza sicuro che abbia specifiche da Gruppo 4 e non gruppo 2. Supposizione però, niente più. Può anche darsi che nel tempo da gruppo 2 sia stata trasformata in gruppo. Probabilmente solo Rosati potrà darci le veritiere caratteristiche tecniche se avrà modo di vedere e commentare il video. Speriamo comunque che lo apprezzi 😅

@@Italiansupercarvideo Ciao hai pienamente ragione....è un'auto difficilissima da portare al limite. Uno che la sapeva interpretare è il compianto e grande Henry Toivonen ma anche il mitico Federico Ormezzano....con lui lo spettacolo era assicurato!!!!
