So for those watching this range test its pretty accurate for level ground but we ride for example in BC, Canada so there is a lot more downhills which helps make up the power if your on regen 4. Also lot's of ways to extend the power and range better quality lighter non o-ring RK chain and better gearing helps as well. Also better brakes for less drag better tires with more PSI. I also switched from China wheel bearings to SKF for less rolling resistance! Better quality oil in the gearbox is also a huge factor because they get shipped with cheap oil in the gearbox! lol Good review bud!

RE: lower power at lower battery voltage: for drone racing it's important / helpful to have consistent throttle response no matter the battery voltage / charge level. So we created control logic in the drone to limit the max power output to the same output as what is available when the battery is low. So this greatly helps keep the feel consistent through the range of the battery as it discharges. The downside is now your max output power is significantly lower. To combat this in drones you use more powerful "hotter" motors. Though in drone racing the drones are already starting at around 13:1 thrust to weight ratio anyways, and most people cannot handle that to begin with so it's no big deal to lose a bit of full charge power. But for bikes you would probably have to install a hotter motor to compensate. Im not sure throttle feel/ consistency is as important in e-bike racing as it is drone racing, but it's interesting to hear a similar thing happens in both vehicles, drones and bikes.

One big problem I see is what if you ride a trail back in the woods, and you go down a big hill and ride around for a while, then your battery is down to 25% and when you go back you have to climb the big hill to get back to your truck, but the battery is so low on charge it is not enough to get you back up the hill you went down earlier, what do you do? With a gas bike you just climb the hill, because the bike always has the same amount of power, all the time. With the electric bike if you run the battery too low and you can not climb the hill to get back to your truck, you are screwed, and stranded in the woods. Another problem I see is weight, the more you weigh the faster it is going to drain the battery, so if you weigh 160 lbs. and you get 2.5 hours on a charge, how long would it run for a guy that weighs 200 lbs. Clearly not 2.5 hours, maybe 2.0 hours, or less, so when you weigh more you lose run time.

Your test is about right. Averaging speeds of 20 mph (which is about what I average when trail riding in the UK) should give you a range of about 60 miles/3 hours worth of riding, according to Talaria. I'm considering getting one but I think the range could be an issue.

If range is a concern, you could maybe look into getting a 50amh~ battery upgrade to increase range
