Taking Too Much

Ойын-сауық

The plaintiff used to be close friends with the defendant. She loaned the defendant money several times, equaling about $10,000, but the defendant has only given her $25, so she’s suing. The defendant thinks the plaintiff is just jealous because she got married and hasn’t spent as much time with her. She doesn’t think she owes the plaintiff anything.

How does that work? (It doesn't!). I grew up very poor with a single welfare mother. My mother never borrowed a dime from anyone..we'd just live within our means...and it was actually GREAT! My disability insurance finally kicked in and her settlement money was long gone, she had the nerve to call and ask to borrow money. I told her we'd never speak of the $1,000 again, but never ask me for another penny because the answer is no, she then started getting my nieces to ask for money or even ask to borrow money, I told them I don't lend money because I'm not a bank.

Saying stuff like "I never asked for money...", but then eagerly accepting it when its offered every time - makes you come off just as bad, if not worse, than a beggar. Because the fact is, the person offering you money would not be offering you the money - unless you had been telling them your sob story. And the fact is, you are telling this person your sob story BECAUSE you want them to offer to help. You might not say that part out loud, but its 100% true. This Defendant clearly used the Plaintiff for her own benefit, and it really is sad how the Plaintiffs kindness in thinking she was helping someone she considered a friend, did not feel the same way back towards her. But still took EVERY dollar she offered.

I used a Papermate Lubriglide for c.20 years, until it was no longer possible to get refills for it. Now I use a Pentel pen that I modified to take Pilot G2 refills...I have 3 of those pens on my desk; one in each of my vehicles; one in my checkbook.... (But it would appear that the judgette made the right decision here, based on the plaintiff having no evidence).

The words *”I got you darlin’”* don’t just come out of someone’s mouth unless it is in response to either a request, or dry-begging. The ONLY reason the defendant called the plaintiff to go with her to have her dog put to sleep is because she KNEW she would pay for it. GROWN PEOPLE are supposed to be responsible for their OWN bills, and in all honesty, I don’t know what kind of woman” or “man would ever feel comfortable with someone else financing their lives. They should be ashamed.

They were probably at the plaintiff's house looking for something to steal while she was at the hospital and she drove up and caught them. The way they ran off and never talked to her again.. The way the defendant keeps saying that's the type of person she was and there was no money put in her hands. She is a worthless lying user. The plaintiff needs to get a backbone and stop trying to buy friends it's pathetic.

Two rules about loaning money. 1- can you afford it? Like do you have the cash and don't have to borrow it yourself, and 2- can you afford to never see the money again? Because there's a better than average chance you won't. And sure, I've leant money to others before and probably will again. But I follow the two above guidelines.
