For small grid ships with interiors most of the enclosed cockpits have entrances on the back to get in from a pressurised area and you'll exit back into there. Allows you to either enter from inside or outside the ship. So I typically have the center line behind the cockpit be the hallway/interior of the ship and kinda build the components past the walls to make the shape of the ship.

Yeah, that's a solid way to build. I've done that for a couple ships in the past. I think only the normal cockpit has the door at the back though.
Using small grid only is such an interesting self-restriction to impose! :) No jump-drive! It doesn't make life easy.. :D Nice to see a busy gravel dumper on the side of the rover there....

It has been hard, but endlessly rewarding.
I love your series! It's kinda funny, I've been challenging myself for about a month now using small grid only too. I give you props for only scavenging tubes and grids, I'm not that disciplined, still manufacture them. That module looks great, don't be to hard on yourself. I can't wait for the rest of the design and the inspiration!

Thanks, I'm glad you're enjoying it! Sticking to only manufacturing out of a survival kit has been one of the hardest parts, but it makes finding things all the more exciting. Good luck with your playthrough!
Nice! New episode on an early Saturday morning while I build my new UNN Nathan Hale class battleship on keen official servers. And coffee and weed lol. Life's good.

More is on its way :D
Can't believe how many credits fall between the cushions. Also sucks losing tools.

Odd that they are sleeping with their money in the first place XD. To each their own I guess.
It's best to group your thrusters then use thrust override to reduce thruster power as you go up

What you recommend is certainly a good way of doing it. I've found that it works about the same (efficiency wise) and I prefer to just flip my thrusters on and off. Everyone has their preferences I guess.
Awesome stuff shifty been waiting all week for the episode,
It will be nice to have bigger wheels:)
Remember to set to your hot bar thrust override increase/ decrease on the transport (carrier) shuttle not to waste hydrogen on the way up .. A lcd to remind you on on top rear of rover/ ship that says TOOLS to make sure you put your tools away lol

I've found that turning off inertial dampeners and pulsing my thrusters on and off is about the same as using thruster override, and I somewhat prefer it. I will add a note to not forget tools though, that's a good one.
You're porbably the chilliest person i'm knowing ... that's a thing that infects me too and makes me less angry when something explodes or went wrong ^^ getting really curious of seeing a new small ship gone large, like from several CaptainShack's SE-series :) I wish i could speak english much better and just join your adventures cause i love small grid ships XD

Small grid ships are wonderful. The more I build, the more I like them.
it might be way too expensive(...?) but i bet buying ships from the npc shop would be a pretty reliable way to get parts you couldn't otherwise get, especially when you're trying to make a ship of some kind in the first place

I thought about that quite seriously at one point, but I think buying components is probably more cost effective. That way you only buy the stuff you cannot make or find.
i am enjoying the series x

Glad you are :)
Looking forward to seeing more.
What do you use the timer blocks for? I've seem them on a lot of your craft but I don't remember if you've explained them or not

I use them with the survival kits. They are set on a 90 second cycle to turn the survival kit ON and restart themselves. I do this because the server I'm on has forced respawn and this way I can turn survival kits off and spawn where I want. Then they will automatically turn back on so I can get back when I want.
Hey Shifty, I was trying to find your contact information but noticed you hadn’t got any available. What’s the best way to get in touch with you?

Do scripts not work on the server? I don't play multiplayer so don't fully know how it works haha

The server I'm playing on has them disabled, that's all. They do work on servers.

@@ShiftyshadowTV ahh, that's a shame, would have been great so you could have used a script to align with the sun haha
