Pro Athlete Wally Green shows us how his philosophy of celebrating small victories took him from the bottom to the top - competing at the national level, and eventually going on to launch his own international diplomacy campaign with one of the most challenging nations in the world. Wally Green, celebrity table tennis pro/entertainer, grew up in a dangerous housing project in Brooklyn where gangs and violence were a huge part of his life. Today his life, completely changed by the sport of table tennis (ping pong) and has represented the US in numerous International competitions across the globe including North Korea for his very own historical Ping Pong Diplomacy! Wally says, “I will make them love me!” He has been featured in talk shows and print, and is cofounder New York’s premiere social Ping Pong club, SPIN New York. WAlly, this is one of the most thrilling talks about Ping Pong Diplomacy I have ever seen on KZread. the reason I said that is I am the beneficiary of the US-China pingpong Diplomacy because I was from China in 1990’s. I firmly believe it. I still vividly remember when I was ten years old in 1972 and one day our table tennis team entertained a group of Norwegian labor party delegation. Because of my belief in the unique policy that solidarity and humanity can be achieved among races and ethnic groups via pure white table tennis balls. I have been voluntarily coaching table tennis for more than 15 years in Atlanta, USA with pretty high level coaching certifications from US and ITTF. The Chinese table tennis motto: Friendship first, competition second. Let’s make the world peaceful place vie table tennis.
