Taking My Single Plane Golf Swing to a Hard Golf Course - Part 4 / Know Your Clubs

Спорт

The Single Plane Golf Swing is the easiest way to play golf. However, that is just the beginning of playing great. In order to take your game from your great swing to the course, you have to have knowledge.
For example, how far do you hit each one of your clubs? How does wind affect your golf shots? What about slope and elevation? These are all factors and considerations that great ball striking requires - when you take your swing to the course. The bottom line - you have to know your golf clubs to play great golf.
What does it mean to know your clubs? For starters, it you have to know how far each club goes under normal conditions. Then when you get on the course, you have to manage each shot taking into consideration all of the variables such as wind, slope and where you want to putt from.
Knowing your clubs is about giving yourself your best chance to score and manage the golf course to YOUR best ability.
The Single Plane golf swing is not a quick fix golf technique. It is a system, beginning at address, that simplifies the most important moment of the golf swing - impact.
Starting at address on two planes where the arms hang straight down at address, the Conventional golf swing is complicated. Because the arms are hanging straight down, a conventional golfer must lift the body into impact creating stress on the back.
This upward movement to accommodate the two planes is unnecessary.
The Single Plane Golf swing simplifies the golf swing by eliminating the need for the upward movement by starting and impacting on the same plane.
To find out more about the simple Single Plane Golf Swing, you can purchase my book, The Single Plane Golf Swing, Play Better Golf the Moe Norman Way on Amazon here:
www.amazon.com/gp/product/161...
or visit Graves Golf at Gravesgolf.com where ewe have coaches available to start teaching you the Single Plane Swing. You can always email me at toddg@gravesgolf.com as well.
Thanks for watching.

    Appreciate the instructions and I am glad I subscribe to your channel. I went through some basic golf instructions while I was in the military but somehow I can never figure it out. I can honestly say after watching the single plane golf swing, I am starting to get excited of the improvement. I would like to know where to purchase that ball position tool for my daughter and I can start her early.

    I hope everyone understands just how good this You Tube Channel is. Todd literally gives away thousands of dollars worth of golf lessons and I couldn't appreciate it more. Today we get a valuable lesson in golf course management. This is a subject we do not hear enough about. I have been working very hard on changing my swing to the single plane that Graves teaches. I looked at the others on KZread who also have some similar "Set up for ...." but despite what anyone says, leaving the trail foot on the ground and leaving the lead leg flexed through impact is instrumental. Placing those limits keeps you from over swinging or I should say it allows you to swing harder (my natural tendency) without getting out of position. I have lowered my scores the last two rounds by 10 strokes and have added almost 25 yards to my drives. I still miss left and I still miss right, but the misses aren't as bad and I typically don't have three misses in a row. It takes practice, patience and perseverance and going to the range and working on the positions is key. If you commit to this type of swing though, it really does straighten your shot. Just don't go out there once and give up. I have always loved golf, but the single plane swing has really renewed my commitment to getting better. I hope to take in person instruction someday as i would love to have a certified instructor fine tune what I have already gained by just watching these videos. I think my back swing is my weakest area, but I will work on it. Thank you Todd, you have made golf fun again and I appreciate what you are doing out here on KZread.

    Thanks for all the great in site into your golfing mind. Yesterday was my first day to the range after committing to the Moe Norman swing. Thought I hit the ball great and my plane was better then it ever has been. When I came home and studied the video I’m a long ways off getting my feet to be still. I was a collegiate golfer yet that was a long time ago and I’ve taken the last four years away from the game. After hearing Moe’s story it has inspired me to get back out there and learn to enjoy golf in my middle age years. I plan on joining the gold member academy next month for the help I need to get started off right leaning the mechanics. Thanks again!

All of this happened over the last 4 weeks. 3 range sessions and 4 rounds. One issue that sneaks in is a dead pull hook with the driver. Any "feels" or swing thought I should work on? Hey Todd. Great stuff. What you were saying about the tee shot on 11 I find as a problem as well. I play the single plane swing that I’ve mostly learned from your videos. But when I aim left, I often end up hitting it more right. Any advice as to why that happens?

  • @ToddGravesGolf

    @ToddGravesGolf

    4 жыл бұрын

    It happens to me because when I aim left I often "forget" to move the ball postion to the correct position too. This means that the ball is too far back in my stance and It pushes to right. Aiming left requires a correct ball position too.

    I prefer to learn to keep the heel on the ground. My heel comes up sometimes. I practice on keeping it down. The reason to learn to keep it down is not really about the heel but rather about controlling hip rotation. Thats why when Mine comes up, it doesn't affect me much however, I sometimes get sloppy and slide a bit too much because of it. I'm a work in progress.

    No swing has one plane Moe’s swing furthest thing from same plane on his down swing. Bryson also. They both drop into their own different slot positions taking them down into a completely different plane or approach into impact

  • @ToddGravesGolf

    @ToddGravesGolf

    Жыл бұрын

    Here is the clarification. What you are describing is "Same Plane" where the club would stay on the same plane throughout the swing. That is not the Single Plane. The Single Plane represents the Natural Motion of the body and shows the club Starts and Impacts on the Club's initial Plane as opposed to starting on a low plane and impacting on a higher plane. The Single Plane Represents the a spatial relationship between the club and body where you can move the body in the most efficient way - similar to skipping a rock, hammering a nail etc.

    I wish I was as positive as Todd on the golf course. I don't play with a single plane and feel I am too old(66) to change at this point. I'm not a bad driver and my irons are ok but what kills me is inconsistent chipping and putting. Seems like I do fine when just practicing by myself but in competition with my buddies....not so good. Oh well. I do have a question for Todd if he has followed to this point.....what lie angles do you have on your irons? The way you set up it looks like you have to be several degrees upright. If so....a person will have to be committed to this technique to buy all new clubs with the proper lie angles.
