Taking my bf to Guangzhou for the FIRST TIME!

When the weather turns bad in Sanya, what does one do? Book a flight to Guangzhou of course! I was so excited to finally introduce Derk to one of my favourite places to eat in China, and it did not disappoint...

Blondie in china you are one of those that goes to Asia to f*** western people. When I lived in a hostel in japan all the guys I knew there at my hostel were like don't be one of the those people that only screws with western people in asia because a lot of the guys there were hooking up with or dating Russian or some other western girls in japan. Hi Amy, have been following your blog. This Cantonese food is interesting, BTW I'm a Malaysia born Chinese. We have a high population of Chinese in Malaysia and many if all are locally born second, third, fourth or more. We are proud of our Chinese heritage. We Chinese born in Malaysia are full blooded Chinese. The Char Siew you are eating we also have and also the Cantonese style and another one which we called Glass Char Siew and basically made from the fat and is so succulent and melts into the mouth. You friend Peter is so typical Cantonese like my many Cantonese friends here. His actions is so similar to our Malaysian born Cantonese. In our capital Kuala Lumpur Chinese people communicate in Cantonese and we also speak English and many Chinese dialects here and many would understand. We are multi dialects and languages here in Malaysia.

All these sweet desserts bring back fond memories of my childhood. We used to eat them at about 9 o'clock at night, not after dinner. Grandma used to make them from scratch by grinding the sesame seeds in a large mortar. It was quite a bit of work. Of course, nowadays people just go to a dessert place. There is another version similar to the one made with almond. It is made with walnuts, very aromatic. BTW, I think the lamb dish is actually goat, not like the fleshy Australian lamb, not much meat, mostly bones and skin. Thank you for showing us the good food.

In Hong Kong, char siu/Chinese style barbecue pork is offered in not just Chinese style restaurants (酒家), but also small restaurants/diners (some of them are only offering barbecue food), as it is one of the signature local foods. Then, very delightful to see Mr. Derk tried it for the first time.

I did manage to try out a lot of street foods though they were SO GOOD!! Love the different varieties of Tang Shui!! I’ll definitely try Bing Sheng next time!! Love your videos!!

Hainan Chicken Rice actually should be a food of Singapore. It was invented by the Hainanese Immragtes in Singapore. The only relation between this food and Hainan is it uses the Hainan Chicken.
