Dear Paola, These videos remind me of a forgotten self. The past few years and still, now have been hard years for the world and myself as well. I agree with many of the soothing things you surround yourself with: candles, books, flowers, tea, animals, and nature. My home was filled with these. If a friend visited they received treats. Fresh flowers always on the table. Friends still light candles, offer tea if I visit them. But recent years were hard. Caring for parents, then grieving followed. I forgot so much about myself that I wondered why a friend was going out of her way to light candles or serve tea. I hope that your videos reawaken my soul. They give me calm. Remind me. Also, I don't see why these pasttimes or likes are somehow seen as unusual. There are so many shops that sell tea, candles and they're beautiful! So many people appreciate the kind of surrounding you create. Maybe it is that they don't create it themselves, but they do like it. Friends who used to visit loved my home's surroundings full of different kinds of cups and plates for each kind of tea or meal. But they say they can't recreate it though they want to. 12:36

Yes her videos are amazing and they’ve changed my life (and many others no doubt ☺️) in such major and positive ways ❤️! Personally I think if she wants to not make videos anymore then that’s totally fine and she shouldn’t feel pressured to make more videos if she doesn’t want to (because then it wouldn’t be what she authentically wants to do) and plus we have way more than enough here already ;)

Miss Bianca patiently and gracefully sitting there in her flower crown was the enormous dose of joy I needed this week! To borrow a word from Pooh, I'm already looking forward to the next "expo-tish-un." 🐰💮🍯

I always feel so much better when the spaces in my home are taken care of as well. Even when the act of cleaning isn't as enjoyable as I would like, music and the knowledge that I'll get to enjoy a clean and fresh space helps me get through. I also love decorating, but 100% agree that it should be practical for your life and it should also be with elements that bring you joy. When I first moved into my home, I thought I should make it look like something out of a Pottery Barn or Crate and Barrel magazine. But as I've become what I jokely call an adultier adult, I've realized that incorporating elements that bring you joy is the best way to decorate a space. My kitchen and dining room are filled with local art prints that are whimsical and silly, but very fun. I also have an art piece that a friend got me of fairies riding chinchillas. Silly, but makes me smile every time I walk by. That is what making a home is about. Smiles. Building a space to make happy memories. Building something that makes you breath easier and love the moments you have with your loved ones in your home. Thank you for the lovely video!

Yesterday while walking with my dog around a local lake, I stopped to smell the intoxicating scent of the beautiful roses along the path. I overheard a person behind me say, “ There’s someone who actually stopped to smell the roses.” I thought…doesn’t everyone? The scent was so strong that the flowers almost command you to stop and take a deep inhale! It’s refreshing to watch you enjoy this simple pleasure on a regular basis. I have mint growing and love simmering some on the stove. It makes the house smell so fresh especially since we’ve had several rainy days. Love your channel!🍄🐇

Your videos always give me a wonderful sense of peace. Thank you! It's interesting that you mention cleaning the kitchen. When my wife and I got married, she told me that she loved to cook but didn't like cleaning up. I actually enjoy doing the dishes and cleaning up the kitchen so we made a deal. (The rest of the house, not so much.) She makes great food and I get to clean up! The more dirty dishes, the better the food. That's worked out well for the last 42 years. I've even been known to do the dishes at friend's houses too. Silly me!

I'm similar to your wife -- the cooking is a joy, but the cleanup can be a heck of a chore. Partly because of certain people in my past who made a huge deal about being tidy, in a very judgmental way. So I kinda ended up being messy out of passive-aggressive rebellion. Not the best way to react, but I despise preachy tyranny. I will be tidy if I choose to be, and not because someone's preaching at me and being self-righteous. It took meeting my boss -- a guy who likes things tidy, but he's so not preachy about it -- for me to realize that maybe my own psyche might enjoy being a good deal tidier...I wasn't wrong. 😅

There is really nothing like your own hollow log ….our home is a sanctuary and a refuge from the world. Your house always looks so cozy and peaceful. Have a beautiful weekend. Much love from Australia xx ❤

Oh!! I thought of you 2 days ago! I saw a Momma deer and her 2 Bambi fawns. I slowed my driving and stopped to take pictures. One of the baby deer discovered a squirrel!! He followed that squirrel friend around the oak tree and onto a stump. It was JUST LIKE one of your paintings. I was in awe ❤

People where I live are kinda not into plants and herbs the way our lovely Paola is. They're more obsessed with lawns that look like golf courses. 🙄😅 So our library kinda reflects that dullness. 😜

Your bunny, Bianca, made me smile! What a cutie! My beagle, Maisey, caught sight of her and ran to the TV and stood on her hind legs wanting to play with her. She ran all over the room trying to find her. So cute! Thank you for your comment about the animal hair. Sometimes I get frustrated that there seems to be hair everywhere as I'm quite OCD about my house. BUT, I do have the love of an amazing pup, so that is definitely worth it. Thanks for the reminder! I started following your videos a couple of weeks ago. It's been hard learning to live on my own after 17 years raising a family. I miss my children so much. Sometimes I feel I am going crazy. When anyone steps into my home, it's immediately obvious what brings me peace of mind: books. My home is filled almost to overflowing with books; on bookshelves (of course); dining room table (sharing that space with many varieties of tea); on my couch; on my bedrooms' dressers; on my artist's drawing table; in stacked milk crates; and stacked on every bit of usable floor space. And being a book lover, I'm always adding to my collection, as if I didn't have enough already (in fact, I'm expecting more in the mail next week). I'm of the mind that one can never have enough books. Like a sachet of dried herbs, I love the smell of old books. That's why I enjoy visiting used book stores. Not just for a chance to pick up some more books, but also for the scent that fills those places. As to why I love books so much, it's perfectly summed up in a poem by Julia Donaldson... I opened a book and in I strode. Now nobody can find me. I've left my chair, my house, my road, My town and the world behind me. I'm wearing the cloak, I've slipped on the ring, I've swallowed the magic potion. I've fought with a dragon, dined with a king, And dived in a bottomless ocean. I opened a book and made some friends. I shared their tears and laughter And followed their road with its bumps and bends To the happily ever after. I finished my book and out I came. The cloak can no longer hide me. My chair and my house are just the same, But I have a book inside me. I don't remember if I sent you this poem before. If I did, perhaps others who follow you on KZread haven't read it before, so they might like it. If I hadn't sent it before, then here it is for you to enjoy. I don't know why, but watching your videos puts me in mind of poems; your soft, gentle voice, the words you use that are obviously chosen with care, your cottage and garden and forest, your slow movements as you go about your business... Oh my it's too relatable haha. Starting multiple projects all at once at the point I forget about my surroundings and even my own body. To me, being passionate in whatever I'm doing is important, but being mindful is also important to give me a reality check. I, too, started to take care of myself more. Do workout, stay hydrated, clean my room, take some break, and mind my sleep hours. Not always successful, but I'm still trying. :D
