First portion of the video shoes how to access the printer to remove jams and clean inside when the front little access door is not enough access. We remove the top portion and show how to put it back. After we do that, we show how to remove all parts from the printer so you can get an idea how easy or difficult it is to do before you start a repair or cleaning project on your Canon printer.

This video was a big help. I'd never have figured out to pop the scanner off on the right side on my own. One thing I would like to add is that when reconnecting the scanner it will be simpler to attach it first and then hook the cables to the board through the open control panel, rather than trying to reach under the scanner while holding it open.

I had the 'paper jam' code, but could find no jam. There was a white nylon drive gear for the path feed that had not completed its cycle. I spun the gear a couple of teeth to manually complete the page feed cycle. The yellow warning light stopped blinking & the printer came back to life. Thanks for this tutorial.

I have the very same problem, it's really a VERY GOOD printer, inexpensive, low cost maintenance on the ink, I'v had my now going on 4+ years, i'll try the gear rotation thing; i was hoping the video would have covered this issue but, your answer is easy to follow; I had (2) HP Laser printers and the cost alone of the ink cartridges was astronomical, they dry up and clog the cartridges head and no matter what you did, you would always end up with "printer head" problems. Bought this at Walmart on special for about $40.00 and it's the BEST $40.00 Investment I'v ever made. Thanks.
Thanks for the video. It was very useful. I'm wondering how to clean up "ink absorbers" in this model. I've seen another video, but the ink absorbers were right below the cartridges, but in this model, it's different and my fingertips aren't reaching there from outside the printer through the hole for changing cartridges.
PIXMA MG 2920 is also similar. Great video. Thank you.

I have the mg2922 and the small cable is backwards from the video. The rest are the same. You need to face the blue side to the outside or it won't turn on.
Any advice on cleaning or replacing ink absorbers? Thanx..
Thank you for your time and being so kind to share this basic knowledge that will lead me to not need a man 😂

I have one of these. It makes one or multiple loud banging noises after turned on and before it starts to print. It has done that since new. It only prints about 20 pages on one black cartridge and the color cartridge runs out before the second black cartridge does. So it loves to drink ink.

This exact model printer feeds paper about 2 inches then stops but the printer still thinks the paper fed through and prints. There's no error code and it completes the print without the paper feeding. The only clue I have is the paper gets a small crumble in the center of the feeding side but otherwise I opened it and haven't noticed anything out of the ordinary I'm stumped with this one.

Hi. There most likely is a tiny piece of plastic or clip in the area where the paper gets damage. Try feeding card paper through the paper path, but from the front. You may be able to push something out.
Thank you. 👍👍

Are you in the Denver area? I'm getting an 0xF1 error on my Epson WF 3520 and could use some help.
The video is good, simple to follow and easy; i was hoping you would cover the paper jamming, but Waldo Wrench provided a quick re-coop which I tried while viewing your video, i'll find out if it works for me soon.

That long white part that holds the rollers in front of where the paper usually sits won’t stay where it should. It’s flush against the back when there should be a bit of space for the paper. And I have no idea how to fix it. It was fine before I opened it up to get a piece a plastic that had fallen inside. Did I loose a part? Is there somewhere that it connects that I’m just not seeing?

I'm sorry there is a problem with your printer. Try removing the part that you took off and make sure to put it back without any force. I'm trying to understand exactly the area if the issue and can't figure it out.

I had removed and put it back together it several times, but nothing seemed to work. Luckily my sister has the same printer so she let me open hers up and I found the problem. The small white part by the spring wasn’t holding the rest of it in place because the part that’s supposed to keep that piece from just falling back got flipped up. I was able to push it back into the right position and now it works again.
How do you clean the ink absorber pads
@droiduseruserdroid1731
7 ай бұрын
They are on the right hand side and are tricky to remove and clean. Doing so will also not eliminate the error code as it is set through the firmware permanently after a certain number of prints. I am researching if simply replacing the control board will eliminate the error warning.
by the way my sponge has a lot of ink...should it be changed?

hi. Iam having problems with error code 5B00...Doing hard reset hasent done anything. Printer keeps blinking from green to orange leds after coming on...Any pointers?

The problem is with ink cartridges. Remove ink cartridges and check to make sure they do not have any dry or wet ink on the bottom or chip contact area. Usually, it's just one faulty cartridge that needs to be replaced.
If you remove the control panel you can access, and attach the cables to the connectors with ease. EIB Tech

Where is the "ink absorber" located and how do you clean it?
@303electronics
7 ай бұрын
Hi. The ink absorber are the pads inside the printer, on this model, they are spread out on the bottom of the printer. Cleaning them or replacing will not remove the error on the printer. You will need to buy a reset code online to get rid of that error.
@droiduseruserdroid1731

Thanks. Cleaned the absorber pads. Would replacing the control board bypass this error problem? Would not that be where the counter information is located (stored)? @@303electronics

@@303electronics Canon considers the MG2520 disposable, and they say the counter cannot be reset through the service menu. What do you mean "buy a code"? Googled it. Found nothing.
I hate how he said it was east to pop off. It wasn’t. Broke part of the plastic even thought I was being careful with it.

Where does the spring goes that came from the scanner part

There is a spring under the power button (between the control panel and the board) that pops the button back up after you push it.
mine wont turn on now. It's dead.

Go back to around 4:35 and then go forward, at a slower speed, and at 4:36-4:39 look to the right of the printhead and the left of his hand hand you can see a Philips screw. Move the printhead to the left and remove the screw. That assembly will come straight up revealing the ink absorber. I still have not found an adequate substitute for the OEM pad nor have I quite figured out how the printer knows when that pad needs changing.
