Very well presented clip Dr. Lumbard. I was hoping you would she'd light on the verses of Suraat 96 "al- Alaq" , specially the first 5 verses and how it relates to the topic presented.

So very helpful Dr Lumbard. Puts responsibility on each of us for our post-mortem state. Frightening to be sure, but bracing in the sense that there is hope of relief by aligning ourselves to God's Will.

+Sydney New Testament's authorship goes to men, whereas Quran's authorship goes to the Creator of the universe. Quran itself similar to "Ten Commandments" which God Himself spoken words.

@@rizwanrafeek3811 you are absolutely correct, but of course connections between the sayings of Jesus as recorded by those men, and the word of God in the Qur'an have their natural reflections of each other. As Jesus was given the word of God (Injeel) himself to teach.

@@oceanmachine1906 Books God revealed to Moses (pbuh) those books existed when Moses (pbuh) was alive, this is a hard fact undisputed. Likewise pages of the Quran existed when Mohamed (pbuh) was alive, this is a hard fact undisputed. Whereas books of NT DID NOT EXISTED when Jesus (pbuh) was around, therefore NT has nothing to do with God or Jesus. Maybe 1 percent of NT is Injeel, 99 percent of NT is man-made. What Christianity has become as we know it today there is nothing is valid in Christianity what Christians believe and practice as Christianity before the God. Do you believe Jesus (pbuh) is divine or the God Himself in flesh? Do you believe God subjected mercy and salvation upon killing blameless prophet of the God? Without killing Jesus, will there be a "salvation" waiting for Christians?

@@rizwanrafeek3811 deification of Jesus is absurd, there is no evidence that he was "God", nor can a person be God, it's one of the most absurd things in the history of religion. The opposers of the Prophets often killed them, Jesus is no exception. Jesus provided "salvation" the same way as Noah, Abraham, Moses, Solomon did, Muhammad too. Salvation is not depended upon any of them but was taught by all of the Prophets. Salvation is through God alone.

Welcome to the essence of Islam teaching. It is the main objective which is the only goal overall. It is Tauhid. To achieve the oneness and unity of god. And god alone.

Salaam brother, thanks for all the videos you make, they can really help clarify questions I have in my mind. I watched your video on the english translations of the Quran because a person I know recently converted. And she was asking me what translation in english she should read. The thing is, I dont want her to get confused, because I myself love the Study Quran translation, because it goes really in depth with different scholarly opinions so that the individual reading it may deduct their own view of what the ayah means. I think its a great translation and definitely a worth a read. But as for someone who only recently converted to Islam and doesn´t have a lot of background information, what would you recommend? The AJ translation is a strong contender for what I should get her, but I was thinking that it may be too advanced english for her, because she is Norwegian and she is only 18 years of age. What do you think of the Pickthall translation? I have heard that one is also kind of biased, but I am unsure. I just want her to get a sense of how the Quran works, and then later give her my copy of the Study Quran so that she can go in depth and learn more. But whatever you would recommend, I am going to get for her. Thanks brother, your work means a lot for not only me, but the whole muslim ummah. May many more people benefit from your work inshaallah. Thanks for reading through this long message Jazakallah khair

Dear Joseph ~ I have a question that if everything comes from God, from whence comes evil? Is evil a product of certain *jalali* Names like *al-Munttaqim* and *al-Darr*? How does this play out in Islamic theology? Thanks for this great series. Jazak bi'l khayr Allah.

i will intrude here. the Creation of evil is essential element of you'r creation and your freedom. To choose between good or bad. w/o evil you have no choice. hence no meaning to Hell and Paradise.

Islam's Followers are Muslims . هو سماكم المسلمين من قبل What is the actual meaning of the world Islam. since the word ISLAM is '(علي وزن افعال) Then Islam is a collection of one's doings (Believe and Do Good) that 'paints' him as a person (his do's points to his believes) (آمن وعمل صالحا) Then the definition of the world Islam is Surat Al Asr. The plural form in it needs deep analysis (آمنوا وعملوا الصالحات وتواصوا بالحق و تواصوا بالصبر) as part of that GROUP one is a Muslim. What do you understand of
