Now the elephant in the room, I've been on a nearly 3 month hiatus. To be candid, that first month was me doing a lot of travel for personal reasons. But when I got back home, I got Covid and lost my voice for nearly two weeks, this absolutely ruined my KZread schedule as I was blocked on the audio recording segment. I got a bit burnt out after this as well, but partway through this production the video editing process finally became fun again. So I'm hoping to get back to a more consistent schedule following this upload.
Okay let's actually talk about this game lmao. So Nerf Arcade is a really interesting one. I've wanted to cover this one for nearly half a year. The glaring problem with this request was, that I suck at this game! It took a lot of practice to approach respectable scores in this game, but even then I still have 'Skill Issues' when compared to the people you will see on the leaderboards in this video. But I don't think that matters too much, I just want to cover this game since it's an interesting example of making a redemption game fun. I still believe that most ticket games are big poo-poo in the fun department, most feel like chores and they really challenge the definition of 'game' for me. I don't need to be the best at these games, I just want to make helpful and entertaining videos :))

As someone who was into nerf stuff for a while, it's weird seeing relatively old blasters in this game. Like, they don’t make or sell them anymore. And just from what I can tell in the stages, they don't actually reference anything nerf related beyond the zombie stage alluding to the zombie strike, and then the tank drones in the drone stage were actual toys. It was a 200 dollar tank that you could use remotely with the camera. It probably would've been a prize at arcades had it not been a toysrus exclusive. Good video

Thing that sorta sucks about modern arcade games and the like, they all pretty much have to have some license attached. It fits in the sense that most redemption places typically have one or two blasters but it is funny that they didn't update the game with new blasters at least.

This is S for me personally because you can see the score before you play the game and the levels are the exact same every sibgle time! All mine around me are 40-45 second versions. I will mention something you did not cover is the Amusement Mode version (No tickets) It will not flash score than jackpot, just score! Besides that if you can reach considerably high scores you can sit and strategically farm until its out of your reach!
I love that you use the South Park WOW guy (Thor's dad) as the representative of experts at the arcade, given I have fanart of my Mewtwo character being WOW guy. I don't know if you intended that or not, but if you did, very nice touch. And thanks for the detailed write-up for when I eventually run into this game!
Do you know the "knock the clown over" game, where you throw a ball at carnival clown figures for like 30 seconds? The strategy there is to bring another player and have 1 person aim for the big points and another going for the score bonus lit sections.

i have been useing these videos to research arcade games for a holiday i am going on tommorow. Its a holiday resort and it has a pretty large arcade with a variery of machines. Also they use physical tickets from what i can recall they might have updated since then because the last time i went to this resort was before covid so theres a chance they updated. thanks for making these fantastic videos and i hope you do well with youtube

The awkward timing strats on when to start playing and the scaling jackpots based on previous high scores seem like a couple of unfortunate downsides on an otherwise really neat-looking game

Dropping by the comment section just to suggest Deal or No Deal again. I've played the game many times and have figured that it's possible to track the correct case with your eyes, but the person managing the machine can change the speed at which the cases shuffle at the start so it can be easier or harder to win consistently based on that.
Oooh, this game reminds me of Cosmo Gangs! It's a shooting gallery game much like this one and I can get around 200-300 tickets every time! I'd love to see you cover it, I feel like it could place well!
I recently found axe throwing at my local arcade (timezone in Australia) and it’s genuinely a lot of fun, if you can find that in an arcade then surely make a video on it, it’s very fair with giving out tickets based on skill which I adore

You gotta find a 'Baseball Pro' machine It's my friends and I's favorite machine ever and all completely physical so actually skill-based There's a few different variants but I've only played the original, not Challenge or Junior Absolutely goated S tier game; idk about for farming but its a lot of fun to play cycling through the mates and hyping up everyone's homeruns and grand slams

Did you get a Chuck E Cheese summer pass? I got one and it's great (perfect for farming tickets and getting good at different games). You get like $20 worth of credits every day for $50 along with discounts on food. It helps that the chuck e cheese by me doesn't care that my wife and I come and play without children, which many locations don't allow, so probably check on that before buying.
Could two player mode provide more power ups? This would let a single player collect more points and reach those super high scores? More videos please and good to finally see what you spend Tix on. More gnomes please.
But how ergonomic is the game?
I have a fun story about this game. I had to learn all these strategies myself and I've gotten to the point where I could basically beat the jackpot every time up to maybe 8 or 10 times a day. And now it's gotten to the point where the MFing MANAGER CALLED ME! They literally called me because my card was registered and they told me that I need to stop playing that game. I'm not kidding it's the most ridiculous thing that's ever happened to me. But he gets being able to get an Xbox series x for $50 is too much for their "small business". Anyways yeah I have no idea how to get a crazy high score My highest score is 227,100 on a verson with 30 seconds. And another fun story, im at a silent war with someone who also has the high score at my local ticket farming arcade. My name i always enter is "Yo Boi". And there is someone who is getting high scores close to mine naming theie high score "Ban Boi" And they finally beat my high score with the name "Boi Sux". Im so proud

The machine I play on is set to 45 seconds and most I've been able to get is around 180-190k. I wait til the first door closes in Army Base and usually have like 9 seconds left on Lagoon to grab the Judge and get the 5k, 2k and 1k targets

Honestly you are right with the direction of arcade content. You're the only one i watch because the vast majority are just pandering to kids and because of that the actual quality of the content is pretty bad. Sometimes a arcade game video will come on my homepage and i'll take a look since that isn't something usually there and you can tell in seconds if it's a kid pandering channel and after i see that i quit watching. This was how i saw you channel last year and the quality of the content is why i keep watching. So thank you for making these videos and keep it up!
Nice I always knew there was an exact timing that affected my scores significantly, I can practice this game infinitely at Chuck E. Cheese so I can definitely get my score above my previous best of 140k Though technically Space Invaders is still better because the high score is always the same. It’s something very consistent like 120k or something (again this is at chuck e tho)
i dont know if it works with nerf, but early versions of space invaders the high score reset when the game powered on. Me, being the ethical individual I am, "accidentally" unplug the machine and increment the score by the lowest amount possible. its a life hack.

Wrote about this in the video description, but for a TL;DR : Was travelling a lot, got sick and lost my voice for several weeks, couldn't record voiceover and got demotivated/burnout. Will try to stay consistent from here!
