my testimony - I was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma last year. It is a type of bone cancer that resulted in the formation of a massive aggressive tumour. I had my fist 3 rounds of chemotherapy and it when it was the time for my surgery they told me that the tumour is going through my brachial plexus , subclavian artery so they have to amputate my left arm as it will be paralysed after the surgery. I was totally devastated after hearing this. It was time for my surgery , my parents and my other family members where outside the operation theatre praying. During the surgery the brachial plexus and the artery was somehow got separated from the tumour! and they could take it out without the need of amputation. The doctors had no idea what was going on! they said I was so lucky but I know it was my God!

I've been battling with my thoughts lately. Struggling with the God created desires/needs within me and the corrupted twisting of these desires by my flesh. The video has encouraged me to keep fighting and resisting the selfish thoughts. And the anticipation of being made more like Jesus as I continue to practice carrying my cross daily.

Have you been baptised in water? It's the burial of our old life and helps greatly in putting the old nature to death. Sometimes we can also need deliverance if we have got into a bondage. There are loads of deliverance ministries around now where you can get help to be set free. We must hate our sin and want to really turn from it and not believe the lies of the devil that's it's ok. Romans 6, 7 and 8 teach on this.

​spend time with Jesus in worship and prayer. Fall in lovemore with Jesus. Cry out to Him when tempted. Fall on your face;seek and enjoy Jesus daily. Read Hid Holy Word and evangelize.

I came across this verse in my bible like 20 minutes ago and wrote my thoughts on it. Then I see this video show up and it definitely gave me even more clarity about what it means to take up your cross🙃

Myla Dayanghirang, this is not at all what take up they cross means. The word "cross" is a mistranslation and a deceptive one at that. Jesus had not even been crucified so why would HE have said that. The word is really "staff" which was a very important part of their lives. They had it everywhere they went. It would be like us going somewhere without our car. Or walking or running long distances without your shoes. Jesus ministry caused for HIM to walk all over, and long distances. If you look at the history of the people in the Bible from Genesis on up, you will see they always spoke of their staffs. But other than all that, the Bible dictionary and Strong's tells us that the word cross, is staff. No one should have crosses in their homes or on their persons or pictures of them. They are pagan in origin, and idolatry.

@@keephiscommandmentsandlive9860 Sorry, but you are not correct. In the greek the word for cross is "σταυροῦ". It is the same Greek word used throughout the New Testament for cross. The word for staff is "ῥάβδος". The Romans crucified tens of thousands. Cross bearing and execution by crucifixion was as common an understanding at that time as we understand the term "dead man walking" to the "gallows".

Lord Jesus understood how hard it would be to carry your cross in these last days. That explains why He suffered for us to the extent He did.

Basically picking up your cross means: to mentally nail your sins to the cross so it dies and you can be set free from its bondage in your flesh. That’s why James states in 4:7, “Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” Pick up your cross, resist sin, and you will live a better life in Christ. Thank you for your explanation of this verse. I had recently read it and thought I understood the passage. But, thanks to your simply stated explanation, I understand a little bit more that it’s a cross of self denial in order to become more like Christ. Self denial by itself is aestheticism, however, Jesus had a purpose in stating this to his disciples. We are to follow his example, having an attitude of dying to self, and living for God.
