This is one of the stupidest videos ever. Guy in video assumes that every time when somebody corrects us he is right. You can be right yourself and other people that are trying to correct you can be wrong.

@Wooden Turtle Sounds reasonable, but those were not exact words guy in video says. According to video, if you don't accept someone's correction, you're stupid. Which is wrong, since guy correcting you can be wrong.

@@goranmilic442 you’ve presented a paradox. You can’t be “corrected” and that “correction” be wrong. I’m not saying that’s not what he said, but the original verse says “he who hates correction”. Meaning, in respect to the verse, he who hates knowing he is wrong is stupid… which makes sense. So it’s more so an attitude for welcoming correction.

@@apoocumber4164 Sure, "correction" in this video means "attempt to correct me". Whole video uses that meaning of "correction". If "correction" is used properly, "successful attempt to correct me", then yes, I can't be corrected wrongly nor can I reject correction, so this test still doesn't make sense, because I can't reject something I've recognized as successful correction.

This passage has guided me many times: James 1:19 Know this, my beloved brothers: let every person be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger.

1)Humble yourself. 2)love and pray for others, even your enemies. 3)Fear God but take comfort in Him. 4)Know that He gives us peace not as the world gives. 5)Encourage and edify others. 6)Be not forgetful to entertain strangers. 7)Its ok to fall but learn your mistake and press on with a repentant heart.

And... Don't take the mark that is coming with the new world order. A little detail that 99% of teachers on KZread forget to mention. Honestly, what a sad thing would that be if after years of ministry this teachers keep ignoring what is happening, because then they and their followers will probably take the mark because they didn't realized what it was and what it meant.

@@JesusProtects it depends on what a person's stance is in how the end times will go down. If one is pre-trib there is no need to worry about the mark of the beast because they believe we will not be here for that. Another thing, 1 Thessalonians 4:18 speaks of encouraging each other on the second coming of Christ! The hope of ressurection, in other words be hopeful and full of joy knowing Jesus will come for us! Not focus on worrying we might "accidently" take the mark of the beast. Blessings!! :)

@@JesusProtects I think it’s important to remember that taking the mark of the beast is connected directly with denouncing Christ. It’s not some secret thing a person would stumble onto. It’s a deliberate action taken to tell God they don’t need or want Him.

A much-needed message in a day when everybody is their own theologian!

Oh gee, I remember when I first learned I was straight Stupid. Glory to God, He truly is the redeemer of all things. I can now take correction!

When I was 21, I screwed up when I was in the Canadian Army, I was only months away from leaving and I was bitter at where I was and who I was working with and that attitude showed in my work. So the Army, charged me one day for not shaving properly while on a Regimental Downhill Ski School. The classic "Conduct Unbecoming" a catch all for really any screw up in the army. When I was asked if I had anything to say. I quoted Proverbs Chapter 12 Verse 1 and ended it by saying," I am not stupid sir." I was fined $400 and confined to barracks for one week, which consisted of inspections in the morning, work during the day, kit inspections at night with 1 hour marching with a 55 pound rucksack, then a final Uniform inspection late at night, then it all started again the next morning. THAT is how I learned to accept criticisms, sadly, the hard way. But when I reflect I think there were times I should have responded better, and there were times I responded appropriately. "For the moment all discipline seems painful rather than pleasant, but later it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it." - Hebrews 12:11 This teaching eases the pain:) I used it to help talk to someone about an important topic. It helped them receive a much needed correction. It's so helpful to define "stupidity" properly, not as a mere insult but rather as a negative behavior, because no one wants to be this kind of stupid. Such a blessing, thank you!

@@ENDtheFED-it4bo Yes but abuse is different from correction. You can walk away from an abuser, I have. The best thing I've ever done in my walk with G-d is leave my abusive family. I love them from afar, they are bitter and still try to drag me down, but I've slowly cut off those who are toxic. I still talk to some like my parents, but when they get out of hand I cease contact until I'm mentally ready. Lastly just because a person is abusive doesn't mean they are giving bad advice. As a Christian, I fail to not react emotionally at first to criticism given in a very abusive and toxic manner, but I still reflect on what advice was given, if it is right and according to G-d's plan; and if I acted rudely whether or not I believe the person deserved it, I will apologize regardless of if they choose to apologize or not, because it's the right thing to do.

Thanks Pastor Mike, I had to learn that being wrong does not mean I’m worthless, and I’m not gonna die (of shame). And sometimes I don’t see situations completely before I make decisions. So folks, please be encouraged (take courage!) that we’re not perfect, and that’s okay. Jesus knows, and still loves us.

I don’t want to pat myself on the back but I did decent at this test. However it wasn’t always that way! It took me a long time to realize how much knowledge I could gain by listening to people more often! I hope god continues to humble me and my generation (I’m 20) so that we can grow more wise and share his word!

Very needed for me right now. I'm trying to assess whether I'm teachable or too argumentative. With God's help I know I can do better. 🙏🏿

I recently started a master list of verses dealing with things like correction and rebuke and us having the heart that is willing to be corrected, and started in Proverbs because there's just so many there as you are sharing!

Thank you so much. It's very easy to presume that we have no issues that need correcting, but quite honestly, I found out for myself that this is the peak of stupidity! I used to have a problem with anger which when in action was accompanied by a vicious tongue. Long story short, the Lord used the word, people & a variety of things to get my attention. Not instantly, I admit shamefacedly. Through a very detailed vision, the Lord spoke the words from Proverbs 15:31-33. Very profound words especially verse 32. Hebrews 12:5-10 also helped greatly. It was alarming to find out what scriptures had to say about the hasty in spirit to be angry and the person with a bitter tongue. Humility is the key. Plus regular self examination. Also, even when rebuke is not offered in love, we can sift through what has been said to us, because oftentimes there is some truth in it. Apologies for the long story, and, thanks for the video, it is a really useful resource.

Inside my head I'm stupid enough but I used to have a pride-based temper as a kid until I got so frustrated at how often I apologised and promised God I would change only to fail. Finally I asked God to remind me of my promise of repentence before I lost it. That worked and I discovered the benefits of keeping calm and reasonable and I remember my heart being able to love people more. I have prayed often since then to be corrected by God before I act so stupid and usually - by the grace of God - I manage to swallow my pride and follow the advice here before damage is done. My error tends to be the other extreme, where I am too shy to correct others or be assertive for fear of offense or conflict. It also means I get drained while people take advantage, although at least this does mean I have all the evidence I need when I do finally call them out. But as you say, correction is a kindness and this inhibition of speaking directly to somebody else's fault in the manner I would hope others would if I were wrong does inhibit my potential use in working for God's kingdom. I would appreciate advice around this end of things if you or anyone else has any to offer.

you are not alone! I go through this myself! my favorite verse for this is Philippians 1:6: “being confident in this, He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.”

Humility is not thinking less of yourself, is thinking of yourself less.. also, looking up to people who have done great things for the kingdom is not comparing yourself, they are there for us to witness and inspire us to keep beingr obedient, you dont *need* to be better than them..

“There are two types of people in this world those who set the example for others to imitate and those who are made an example of what not to do.” You choose how you react. God bless you all brothers and sisters AMEN!

I never really knew how stupid I was until now. I generally had the mindset that I was overall a good person and I had a sense of superiority (which I'm so ashamed of). After those questions I was so ashamed to recieve a 38/50. I have a very unnecessary amount of pride and it's so bad that whenever I'm right about something (even the fact that I'm prideful), my ego finds a way to multiply in size.

Hi, you really learned alot about yourself. Your willing to learn to accept criticism that was a trouble spot. I'm righteously proud of you. I do better at criticism when it comes from someone who has my best interests at heart. I'd rather correct myself by the word of God. If I judge myself I won't need to be judged.

Brilliantly done! I love how you broke this down for the metrics and submitted the test to others' perspective, just brilliant! .. this measures "argumentative" or "relationship damaging" as well. People willing to admit they're wrong are more credible. My advice is: pray Psalm 19:12 and be ready to get the view you ask for.."Who can understand his errors? cleanse thou me from secret faults". bc Jesus says in Rev 3:19 "As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent."

This was amazing, thank you, haha 😊. I scored a 25 actually which I shall show to someone close to me and see what they say. -- a little encouragement for others, is that this reminded me of how my parents get when also being corrected, more specifically, by me lol [being their child and then having a rough childhood of extreme rebellion(still working on it)]. I have been *trying* to study the Bible (even if it's a little) every day since being born again and when I try and show my mom something she gets very defensive, but when you have been brought to a better understanding and humbleness in Christ, the patience has become easier and it really has shown my mom the truth in Jesus in me. A lot to work on still but there's definitely been a shift in how I think and act and also within my relationships. Thank you for being so humble Pastor Mike. God is absolutely, amazingly, infinitely, perfect and deserves all the glory, thank God for revealing Himself to you and others and spreading how good he is in blessings

As I learn to take correction and respond with an open mind, not only do I learn lots of things about people and things in general but I grow in my ability to be gracious and see God's mercy, for me and others...full circle.

I'm going to do this with my best friend. She knows me well. I welcome correction. I don't want to learn or do things the wrong way. And I have to take responsibility for my actions

@@goranmilic442 yes it is possible. I have been on the receiving end of leaders misconceptions. For example being rebuked for sin that I had already repented of and had found joy in The Lord yet the leader was not happy with this fact but was only satisfied when they had reduced me to tears (as a outward showing of remorse) that was many years ago as a baby Christian LOL. I have learned much better ways of dealing with those situations now 😁 God bless you

@@EveLovesChristJesus Good. If people that correct you can be wrong, then you, just as I, are disagreeing with this video. If somebody corrects you and you still don't change your mind, you are not automatically stupid (as this video would suggests).

Praise God for this video. I was demeaning myself because I believed I was foolish, but I realized that I did try and be better. This did come with some resistance.

i am 8 years believing only my Pastor because He said that our church is the only prophetic church in our place and we are spirit filled, i was so defensive of what i believe and don't received any correction unless it came from my Pastor. but now that God show me the truth i learned to humble myself and seek truth according the bible and not to anyone.

My mother was someone who you could never tell her what she was doing was wrong because she always thought she was right & I was wrong...in her eyes, everybody was wrong. Her life was a train wreck and I was the one who always cleaned up the messes. Just started reading Proverbs and came across this passage & thought of her. She was a fool...her whole life...leading on her own understanding and never thinking about how her decision & actions effected the people around her. I am still dealing with the aftermath & could use some prayers. God bless!

On some occasions I can find someone or something to blame for my faults. But I remember this question: Sure it's someone else's fault for the actions you took in the past. But now that you know that you're following the wrong path, why are you still following it? Wouldn't that be your fault for continuing to follow that path?

Dealing with people with narcissism is extremely difficult. May our Heavenly Father give you wisdom and understanding to deal correctly with your husband. I would really like to see someone teach on this topic using the bible. So many people are hurting because of this "mental disorder".

@@TheBlubunni I've been going back and forth through research on the topic scientifically and through scriptures to get an answer. I now know that by reading the Bible that love is nothing I have received from my husband and I am a thing to be used by him so, I waited for God to give me an answer and I believe I got it. God showed me the true man my husband is and how he broke the commandment to love his wife and to cleans her with the word to be prepared for Christ, our heavenly husband. I see that God does not stay in relationships with sinners who never repent and I believe I am to leave this marriage. God even sent me the money, I checked my mailbox yesterday and the amount for the divorce was in there right when my husband verbally abused me and tried once again to control and deceive me. Its time to go.

Please research narcissistic behaviors and tendencies to gain a better understanding of this particular context and what it can be like being in a relationship with someone who behaves this way. Your gain knowledge and perspective will not be waisted.

Cool video, about seven years ago I read a book called The art of War by Sun Tzu. It's Interesting how so many of the generals over the years will not listen to subordinates who they're in charge of. Keep up the good work, God bless.

When I was young I was so ashamed of rebuke. Now that I'm older I understand how little I know and what a relief it is to not have to be right, but to be able to learn new things.

@@merrittascott3323 it’s neither. I could care less about a fretting Fanny disapproving of a lighthearted comment. I was chortling out loud when I wrote it. If you must take a moral position on every tiny thing anyone says and make a life and death theological case for it, you are under some very fundamental misapprehensions about the nature of Christ and salvation. It’s not my intent to mock or hurt anyone, but the disapproval of KZread commenters registers not even slightly with me. There is only One whose approval I need. Y’all take care.

A light bulb came on bright! Not only area of others offering insight for my self caused problems, but how I can be self sabotaging the answers to my prays? For instance praying for restored health while not following good physical and dietary guidelines (even feeling upset if friends and family point out how I am STUPID in these areas) like telling child don’t put hand on hot stove, correction yes, but it is the nurturing and admonishing of God directed individuals! One good thing, I am constantly asking for wisdom, now I must learn to take it and thank God for it, no matter what form it takes!

Thought provoking & an excellent topic for those who/ trusted biblical councelor! Not an easy topic, but an interesting approach to becoming more Biblically receptive to correction

I hope this will make sense...in a detour route sort of way. An abusive childhood led to a destructive youth. So of course during this time any correction I received I would not hear, own, or attacked back, etc. I just wanted to pass blame and dump all responsibility into the laps of adults from my childhood. It was a long hard journey to realize that those reactionary actions were ALL MINE. And as much as I wanted to blame those adults from my childhood, I had to accept my responsibility for my actions. The beauty of this is that accepting responsibility for my actions led to accepting correction as well. For me they went hand in hand. Still learning and growing, but it has served me well to change my thinking around. Accepting personal responsibility is freeing. Being able to say outloud, "I was wrong" is healing. Accepting correction is life changing.

When you receive adjusting feedback you can view it one of two ways, either that person is focused a problem with who you are or they are focused on the potential of who you can become. Choose not to believe it’s the former and trust in the latter. Believing the best in them will give you the tools to respond well either way.

We all must do our part and spread the good news..

Ive been a student for most of the last 26 years, and this year of "experiential education" (clinical rotations) has really slapped me in the face with the humble stick, but in that humility it has already started to build my confidence that maybe im not there yet, but i can and will be. If you need advice taking advice, i'd look at it this way: every person you meet will have had a different path of experiences that brought them to you. They may not be the expert of all experts, but they have expertise in their experience, and if they are using that expertise and experience to offer you advice, you should absolutely be thankful that you did not have to walk the same mile in their shoes to have that knowlege given to you. Some criticism will be more useful than others, and you should weigh the merit of someone's words carefully (for example, your doctor is going to have better health advice for you than the guy who is bumming a cig off you) but you should accept all opportunities to learn and better yourself as a gift

Corrections are lessons we can all learn from if we are open to them. It is growth for you if you can master it and realise that life is a teacher.

It is worth it to improve here, this way your children...and mine...ours...will see the example and start out better than us.

It is very fine line in my family between correction and criticism. I have to seriously weigh what is being said against why it might be being said. To help me, or to do me harm.

For me it depends on in what spirit the rebuke is given. I will always do my best to consider it but it does make it harder when it’s done in a mean spirited way.

I learned this from my father. Certain things, from what I understand, my grandfather did not teach to my father. As a result, many things my father had to learn through the world, through experience. People in the world were very harsh with him when he didn't know how to do something (on his job, for example). They insulted him, cursed at him, verbally abused him, BUT what they were saying was still correct, even though it was said in a rude and very cruel way. My father had to separate the sin of the messenger from the message in his heart and receive the message without the cruelty. My father was able to receive correction and allowed God to teach him, even when truth presented itself through the lips of the ungodly. As a result, my father learned much, and taught his children much so that we would have better experiences in life than he did. He's lead people to The Lord in his life because of receiving truth and correction from God and has been a great example for our whole family. All of my family are Christians because of the sacrifices he's made. God bless you

I'm a 14 somewhat stupid lately I have reviewed my past thinking about all the people who ghosted me and looking at myself from thier view, so no judging cant blame them so I dont. Not anymore

These passages have always appealed to me as I've grown up, and pursued understanding about how life works and an understanding of human behaviour. In 2018 I started learning about Narcissism, which has made many puzzle pieces fall into place, and has given me a deeper appreciation of the Bible (which is a manual for empathetic people to guide them through this world filled with Narcissists, sociopaths and psychopaths). It's given me a deeper appreciation of God's supremely beautiful character, personality and integrity. My sister and mother are Narcissists, and this piece of wisdom reminds me of Me-Again Markle, and my sister, who share similarities. Markle has fallen from greater heights than my professional victim sister, however. Narcissists won't be told. Their attitude of entitlement, their overblown ego, and addiction to the rewards of their exploitative behaviour, mean that when you try to discuss something with them respectfully, you're met with a barrage of antagonism, blame-shifting and deflecting, all to avoid accountability. My sister's speciality is stonewalling and prolonged silent treatment, which I learned is an abusive tactic, as is the sudden screaming rage of my mother. No trust is ever possible, no learning, no personal growth, absolutely no spiritual growth, no resolving issues, no bond of friendship...they harden their attitude, stiffen their necks, and if you persist in trying to make a relationship work, you're beating your head against a brick wall, and will experience an erosion of your mental health. Having emotional empathy is a game changer. A Narcissist, possessing none, adheres rigidly to their ideas and often delusional reality, and has an inflexibility in their cognitive processes (unless they hear an idea they can steal as their own, then they can hypocritically do a volte face in a second).

Wise in his own eyes is one who is "self righteous" the book of Proverbs is a book of wisdom learn from her.This was fun I have learned to be teachable, reachable and receptive. The Laws of The Most High makes one wise. Halleluyah!

I've been extremely convicted! Now I'm not so convinced I'm as teachable as I thought! I can find examples where I didn't respond perfectly for each and every one of the questions!
