One of the best I've seen on explaining how this is done. Only thing missing is the camera settings. In other words, did you use manual mode to expose for ambient and how did you determine flash power? Otherwise, very concise and totally understandable explanation of how this works.

This explains it better, I believe, on how to set your strobe to match the setting of your ambient light (used the camera mode to manual for ambient light reading, camera lens aperture at f4, lowest ISO possible, and flash speed synch. on the shutter). Then take an incident flash reading on the model using a hand-held light meter with light meter set at similar adjustment. Lower or higher the power of the flash to get the same reading as your camera light meter reading on manual mode. kzread.info/dash/bejne/laqVy7OLYpm_Z5c.html

Yes, but the flash isn't as powerful obviously and you won't get the dramatic look of a flash that is off camera. However, you can buy any of the Godox strobes (AD200, AD400 or AD600) and use your tt350 to trigger them and end up with the same results.
