Kim’s come a long way in the last couple of months. More confidence and comfort. Well done! 🎉 Inspiring to follow along on her journey to PIC.

Came here to say just that. Clearly "getting it" more and more. Go Kim go!
Matt is a really good instructor. And he's got a really good student Kim's progress and her increased confidence are evident in all these videos. Way to go, girl!!!
What a remarkable change in Kim's demeanor and rapport with her instructor since the early videos. You can clearly see the growth in confidence and becoming more comfortable as a pilot.
It's good to see Kim cracking jokes. She's so much more relaxed at the yoke. Even when she gets frazzled it's over the finer things! Keep up the good work.
Well done! I'm 55 and have decided to finally go for my PIC after watching this series....Thank you!

So proud of Kim and how far she has progressed in her flying journey!
Aside from posting these videos for us, which is fantastic, this is a great way to document earning your first pilot's license for yourself. I wish I had the opportunity to do film my journey of earning my private license. As always, thank you for sharing this journey with us, Kris and Kim!
Been waiting for the next installment for ages. How Kim has grown. Keep going SIC. 👏👏👏
Kim I can tell you're much more confident and more relaxed than before. Way to go. Looking forward to seeing more of you're journey.
Teardrop entries were the hardest for me to learn. Watch your compass heading Kim, it will become more important as you transition into instrument and commercial training. Good job handling the basic landings!
Welcome back, have missed you guys. Not so long next time please!
What a difference, my instructors where retired military pilots. Learned to fly at Santa Maria CA Cessna pilots center in 1973. They were prior F-4 Phantom Navy fighter pilots that started the school. Flew with all of them. They where the best instructors in the world. The center was not FAA approved yet so had to fly 45 hours instead of 40 Soloed in 9 hrs and for the rest of time got a new CFI, Linda who was a great pilot too, had a great time . Got to fly most of the time off in a C-150 that was landed short of the runway for free with my student license. My total expense was $700. Now 80 and see the up and coming pilots are just as dedicated to flying and learning as ever. Of course back then it was compass and charts, no transponders, no auto pilot, most uncontrolled airports and when needed help called for flight following, back then they had you change course a few times to identify the plane and gave heading changes to the airport of your choice. Times have changed for the better and safer flying. Best to you and your future. Most of all have fun.
Way to go Kim. You can see your confidence building! You got this!
Kim, hope you're getting ready for that check ride!
Thanks for taking the time to chat during Sun n Fun. It was awesome to see 75W on display and spend some time chatting airplanes! Can't wait to see you again next year!

Yes it was great catching up again!
You’re becoming more confident and experienced. You seem to be enjoying your flight more.
Great job Kim! Thanks for the videos Christopher!
Wow. How exciting for you. So impressive 😊
Awesome.
Looking more calm and confident Kim, well done!
The enjoyment has started without all the thinking 👍🏻
Well done! As others have mentioned, you've come a long way, baby! Just know that the butterflies never leave you....nor should they. It all just makes for a much more satisfied/rewarding feeling at the end of each flight.
Kim is a VERY good radio communicator!
Kim… you are doing well. Just don’t overthink it!
Really enjoy this series! Love following Kim’s journey and can’t wait to see what she achieves next!
Kim looking and sounding all piloty. 👍👍

Love these videos, keep doing what you're doing.
Kim...you're flying!
Another good video it's good to see Kim's confidence grow keep up the good work and remember to have fun.
Woo hoo! Go Kim! You're really feeling more comfortable. Progression is coming along very nicely. Cheers from NZL, David
Good job!😊
The flying looks so much nicer than flying here in the LA Basin. We use sewer plants and dump sites as VFR check points. We have tons of TFR's, flight restrictions, Bravo and Charlie shelf's to deals with in addition to tons of traffic.
Thinking ahead…..I like it! Good job Kim!
Love the content , Fly Safe
Good luck on your solo cross-country!

Well done Kim! 💪💪
Love it when it’s fun
Well done, you are getting there. It won't be long before you can fly over and see me in the UK ❤
I grew up in Dayton Ohio, the birthplace of aviation. I live In Southern California now. Got my PPL in SoCal. Can’t wait to come back to Dayton and fly to Sporty’s to celebrate my lifelong dream of becoming an aviator.

Do it!! We only have one life to live!
You're too hard on yourself, if the plane is on the ground and everything is in one piece, success! I think you're going to benefit from flying alone, where you don't feel like someone is watching your every move to catch a screw-up. I think ironically you'll relax more when you're on your own!
Nice job Kim!
Great video, and the Closed Captioning is sometimes hilarious! I've got my first (biannual PPL) flight review coming up in several hours, so this is especially helpful even though I'm in the midst of my Instrument training. Go, Kim!!

Part of the control tower talk you also need the instructor to know a little jive, he said hang loose blood mama wants you on a heading of 030 . The ground school controller said Jive-ass dude don't got no brains anyhow .

Love that movie 🍿🛬😎
The transition from student to pilot is obvious.
Taxing with the mixture pulled back is a great idea. Stops the plugs from getting fouled out. Taking off with the mixture pulled back though is a bad idea. Could lead to very bad things happening. Be careful to always go mixture rich before take off.
@flyingsic

That plane likes its mixture pulled a knuckle less than full rich we learned

@@flyingsic weird but good to know. I accidentally took off in my Comanche with the mixture pulled back and the CHT’s climbed fast. So glad that I was watching my engine gauges. I was able to push the mixture in before it became a problem. That’s why you always pay attention to our engine gauges. They can save your life.

@@johnstark-StarkAvionics great point, always scan and verify. also just to clarify, I mean this tail # specifically, not the model😊
What’s the timeline for her training? I’m assuming this was more compressed than the video release schedule. Either that or she has absolutely amazing retention between lessons.
Does anybody know what's going on with the channel? Last thing was the barron went into annual and we haven't heard anything except for Kim learning to Fly.
Pam graduation she did good landing practice makes perfect keepad it probably
Are they becoming too friendly with each other? Does that hinder the teaching process?
@flyingsic
Жыл бұрын
Besides being the beginning of my training, if you compare the first few flights getting to know each other VS here, you can tell that I learn better in a relaxed environment. Being that Matt and I got along so well was just a bonus to having such a calm and knowledgeable CFI to help me succeed. But everyone is different, it could definitely hinder someone else’s training. That’s the beauty of training is you aren’t required to stay with 1 CFI, if it doesn’t work nobody’s feelings should be hurt, it should be all about the students success
@Bill_N_ATX

@@flyingsicExactly. Do what works for you. We are all different and how we learn is often very different. The idea is to learn how to fly, not learn how to follow a rigid learning method.
0:55-1:09 I know I am early in the vid* but John Denver was a private pilot and died in a crash of his experimental plane. He was 53. Rip. And I love that song too *EDIT: I watched the whole video and this was not mentioned however, I’m pretty sure you guys may know this fact. For those of you that don’t, now you know!
Song on his mind.....hmmm the dude that sand that died in a ....you know what nvm
Pam good job you improved. Keep up the good work pay attention your instructor and you're going to give me the advice how to operate the playing you could do it. You did it now? You didn't do a good job and I don't know I hope I don't sound like I'm telling you do. I'm not telling you you're a w****. I'm reviewing your flight and how you take off and how you have it to control that plane. That's the same thing you're you control that plane and you're gonna be an extra good pal I know you can do it don't take me. To wrong when I'm not trying to tell you what to do. You're a good woman and I know if lot of faith in you william smith
"I don't know what I'm saying." "Here's what I'm confused about...." "I'm doing it wrong." Forgot to raise flaps on takeoff. Doesn't know VFR references (towns). Does not seem to know traffic pattern altitude. Make a soft field landing. Kim's response: "Talk me through." WHAT??? This woman is a danger to herself and to other aviators. She needs to stop her flight training and take up a hobby that does not require technical thought.
