Thanks so much for doing a tutorial where you don't 1. Explain what a double exposure is or why someone who searched 'how to double exposure might want to do a double exposure 2. Say 'Hey guys!!!!! 😋🤩😘😵😉🙃 It's YA BOY...' 3. Use dubstep to artificially inflate how exciting double exposures are 4. Make the video 20 minutes long You know, the simple things that save me time and homicidal rage

isn't just the exposed part is burned? why the whole film Is burnt? it's inside the canister, in the dark.

The other day I saw a video, and the guy said "if this is your first time on this channel, make sure to subscribe". That makes absolutely no sense! Yet he says it in every video. I like that you say "or don't". Thank you for that. Thank you for making videos not for likes / subscribers => money.

Oh my god! So simple, why didn't I think of that? Thank you so much for the tutorial!
Thanks mate for the demostration, bought some old cameras only for testing this.
wow that was so useful and direct
Its been a while but as i remember, my class used a big rubber band to hold the film rewind knob (after tightening the film) and after setting the camera for the correct exposure, we backed off the aperture 1 stop for each exposure. This is best done on a tripod with a cable release.
This is extremely helpful

It's best to observe how your camera works. For example, my Minolta SRT 303b only requires you to press the rewind button once and let go *BEFORE* charging the shutter. If you hold it down, you'll accidentally end up with a triple exposure. Holding the knob isn't required on mine, but can't hurt, and assures you that the roller is disengaged.
Awesome, thank you so much!
Thnx finally normal video how to do that with a film

Some cameras (Like my Prinzflex M-1) have a switch, where if you switch it before winding, will just cock the shutter and not move the film. It's also a handy way of de-cocking the shutter without wasting film.
I subscribed just bcz you said “or don’t” at the end. 😁🙌🏻

this is very helpful!!!! thanks!!!!
Awesome!! Thank you so much! I’ve always wondered how to do that on a single photo in a roll of film! Question- does it mess with the photo counter?
On certain models there is a knob in front of the film advance lever where you hold down so when you pull the lever it just closes the shutter. I believe the Nikon F3 has it and the Minolta XE7 too
Very helpful! Thanks

hi! i am doing a photography project for uni, and really wanted two photos on one of my prints. For example on one side someone is happy on the other side they are sad. Im assuming this will work if i position the subject in a different place when i do the double exposure? i do have though an automatic film mover, so how would i stop it from moving? sorry! another question... do you know any way i could take the photos sepeately and then when i develop it in the dark room, cover half of the photo? and then visa versa to get the other half of the photo?
Thank you so much! It's very helpful :))

I always wondered if I should take the darker pic first or second or does it not matter?
@beatalls
8 жыл бұрын
+ChaoticMatters As far as I know film can only become lighter as you take more pictures. So it would be better to take the darker pic first as the parts of your film that haven't picked up any light will be exposed during your second shot. If you do it the other way around the film is already saturated and will register less dark details. Haven't tried it yet but that's just my theory, hope it helps. :)
thanks man!
Thanks man
Thank You!
great tip thanks
Do you know if I can do this with a Yashica FX-3? Cheers!
hey! I have the same lens as you the rokkor 1.4 pf, I was just wondering if you knew it's lens cap size since I want to buy one for the lens!
love this video! but I'm having trouble with my film rewind button staying pressed in and messing up when I try and move on to the next frame. I use a canon ae1 btw. thanks if you reply!

I have a sears tls, do you think it'll work on this model?
Thanks!
from a technical standpoint, would you want to shoot the first picture at a normal fstop and then the second exposure a half a step or full step lower?
@AwesomeCameras

+Frank a good standard is to underexposed both Shots by a full stop
Thanks mate
Genius!
Thank you so much man I was doing it the hard way by unloading the film and then loading it back in to it 😂😂

I was thinking of the same thing too haha
What about exposure adjustment for how many times you're shooting one frame? Surely there's a system you need to mention to avoid over or underexposure.
@robertknight4672
3 жыл бұрын
It's usually recommended to underexpose since you'll be exposing the frame twice. However your results might vary. I had kind of a happy accident with an old Kodak pony camera because you could recock the shutter as much as you want without advancing the film. If you're using on 100 speed film and you forget to underexpose you might be okay depending on the situation.
can you do double exposures on a camera that doesn't have a "shutter trigger" (i dont know what it called, but you pull it after capturing a photo to move to the next frame). because i have the old FED 2 rangefinder, and it doesnt have a trigger, to move to the next frame you have to turn the thingy (i dont know what it called). i hope you understand, and reply. thanks
Thanks a lot
Hi man! I almost bought a camera with this function on it until i came across you video. 1question. I want to try this with my Minolta x300. But this camera doenst have a under or over exposure option. Is is possible to use a the f stops for this?
haha, maybe that will motivate me to make even MORE videos!!
hi, can i ask, when you're doing those steps, you have to hold the rewind button all the way?
It's very important to note you need to take a 'dead frame' photo after double/triple howevermany exposures you do. Otherwise you will likely end up having the images overlap. Ruining both. Just take the next photo with the lens cap on.

So if you take a double exposure you get one less picture on your roll?
@clara9856

@@liamgiardino basically, if you want to be safe just imagine one of the pictures on the roll was used for the double exposure i find it a bit comforting to think like that :’)

depends on your camera, some this tip shown in this video will rip the film, other cameras have a dedicated multi exposure button. dead frames are only if your camera needs them
Thanx!!
Works on minolta srt 303? Thanks great trick and great chanel film!
Hey! I find your chanel very intristing. I love it so much, and I learn so many new technics for you. Thank you so much for that. I have a littel question, or maybe tow. I'm not a photographer and I'm totally dot tallented but I like to use my father's camera wich is a SOLIGOR TM (can you do some review about it just to make me knew it better pls?). And my qustion is that I was hearing about light ?! Can you pleas tell me what is that? and it's used for what? I know it's a dumb question but if I don't ask it I'll never know. Thank you again for your awesome videos. Have a good day.
Yeah man I have that same camera!!
great !
awesome, thanks :)
Hi, Thank you for this video, I have a minolta x700. and I tried to follow your instructions. I was at frame 6, I shot my first exposure, held everything and wound the top to take my second exposure, I noticed that I am now at frame 7. so the number of frame changed where im supposed to be on the same frame, is that normal?
how do you do this with cameras that automatically wind the film?
