Take Class with Wendy Whelan

Our trainees are enjoying a special treat on this #WorldBalletDay: a master class with Wendy Whelan herself, who's in town to rehearse William Forsythe's Slingerland for our upcoming show, Parallel Connections.

I liked the class very much BUT although it's nice to have an overview of the whole class, for us who want to follow it at home, it would be better to focus on just one barre in order to detail the exercises. Also, the audio sucks. We cannot hear the teacher's instructions. Hope you will edit a better version.

Too bad it's impossible to hear most of Wendy's instructions. They couldn't have put a mic on her? What a waste for the video audience.

Some people when they see ballet are like "how do they memorize all the steps in one go?" but most of the students probably don't know what to do, and are just following the other people in front lmao. (Idk, don't come at me, just a theory)

idk to others but in our ballet school, we were trained to memorize steps that we learned and the muscle memory too And when the class starts on, the teacher would just say the combinations like "tendu close back front back relev passe etc." And all we need to do is memorize the closing and next step since there's a common pattern a ballet has (but also teachers can play the pattern of closing and connecting steps)
