This is an advanced ballet barre workout for dancers who are ready to push themselves. This ballet class will help you build strength, technique, and musicality. This barre can be done on pointe if you like - but only for advanced pointe students. Being a ballerina requires an enormous amount of ballet training, so I hope these exercises can help you get there. Remember - no ballet class should be too "easy" - even if it is under your current level, there is always something to work on!

I was so excited to do it with you but I got really disappointed from the beginning fix your hand fingers and your shoulders and when you go down with the grand plie come on girl you can do better and I'm not saying I'm better than you or anything but you should be an example

It's the Balanchine style - lots of differences in hands and fingers and port de bras. Also, she is just getting back into it, was ill for a while. I agree though, shoulders and alignment are a bit off in spots. Typically at barre with keep strictly classical positions, and play around with it more in centre and in choreography. But I see "choreographic stuff" happening at her barres - unsure if it's deliberate or not.

Your faces after every combination, I'm DONE. That is me in literally every ballet class I've ever taken.
this is making my quarantine 10000000000x better THANKS!
I love you. Thank You! I'm 60 years old and you have me dancing again.
When I am on my toes I fall down easily and so my teacher said to be an uncooked noodle instead of a cooked noodle (idek😂😂😂) so I always think BE THE NOODLE, BE THE NOODLE! NO! DON'T COOK!!!

I love how our bodies change even as we are in the process of taking class! Our ribs lift up and away from our hips, thinning our waists a bit and making it easier to take deeper breaths. Our hips open more as our glutes lift and round, and our hamstrings pull up, allowing our hip flexors to release. Our shoulders draw down, our necks lenthen and our backs open. No worries, no cloudy thoughts, just in-the-moment presence. Love. No wonder we are so happy to take class!! Thank you for sharing this class with us, Kathryn. You are a generous teacher.
I didn't notice how much I was getting better at ballet until now that I see I can do all this stuff. Definitely thanks Kathryn, you have been so helpful and inspirational since I started❤

I love it how you're not trying to be super happy or apologise for the little mistakes during the balances etc. You're your true self and that's the reason I love your videos so much plus they're very helpful and informative. Btw you remind me of my ballet teacher especially with the face expression at the end XP She too throws big smiles after showing us new, harder combinations. Love from Finland
I love the speed that you teach, not too much talking and we keep moving; thank you so much for doing these
Love the little rond de jambes in the tendu. I've never seen that before

Aaaaaaah that moment when you realize that you can actually handle advanced stuff :DDD
I was a dancer through all of high school, and then made a hard choice between a career i was passionate about (physical therapy) and continuing to be a dancer. I chose to continue a bit of dancing for my sanity in undergrad but then I just continued to be someone who just loves dance and also loves to workout. I love your videos even though I was NEVER close to your level (I probably could have completed this in high school when i was in "the thick of it" but never after). You are beautiful to watch, great to listen to and very inspiring! Keep it up katie!!
I am not a dancer at all!! How do you lot remember all these moves??? So impressed that you do ... 👏👏

Not a dancer, but when I first started taking real ballet classes, (Back in August of 2018) I was absolutely struggling to remember combinations. There ALWAYS had to be someone in front of me. After constant classes of repeating the same combinations and realizing certain ones have patterns, it suddenly started to become easier! I'm not perfect when it comes to memorizing combinations, but I have learned it truly is a repeated learning sort of thing. Goodness, some things even start to become automatic! I have no clue the arm positions when working in centre but am somehow able to automatically do them when working. I guess you could say muscle memory is the key?
Would you do a video on how to do some of the miniature versions of steps, such as mini ronde de jambes?
Day 1: Could barely pass 20 minutes. Day 2: Made it to 30 minutes. Let's hope day three will be better! Lol!
did this barre this afternoon after two weeks of not dancing and i was sweating soo much! thank you for uploading :)

This is what I need! You my blessing and thanks!
I really like the way you filmed this! It was super helpful that you pivoted so we could see better when youre going to the back. This is probably way too hard for me at the moment but I watched it through anyways. I find that if I watch barre videos and dont necessarily do them, it helps me pick up combinations better. I try to always watch a barre through before attempting to do it. Hopefully eventually I can do this one without stumbling too much!
Wonderful to have you back Kathryn. And wishing you and your lucky students all the best at RAFA.
Omg I have been waiting for this for ever thank you so much for these wonderful vids.

Thank you so much for this fantastic barre! I'm training pre-professionally at the moment and a lot of the time on my own unfortunately, so it was lovely to have some company with perfect teaching pace and level. Thoroughly enjoyed it! Thanking you, Kathryn! 🙏💪💫
Thank you Kate! I've been waiting for that.

Love that you're doing these youtube classes! I did ballet recreationally for about 15 years before leaving for college 2 years ago. I've been looking for a way to get back into ballet since there isn't a ballet studio in town! Your videos are perfect; I can't wait to use them this upcoming school year!
This video's quality is flawless!!💗 thank you so much Katie love from Mexico 💗
I tried this class when I first found Kathryn Morgan on youtube and I couldn't get through it. So I went back and worked my way up from the easy stuff to the more challenging. Today ... not only did I get through it but I had a much better understanding and was able to follow along at a much better pace! Yay for progress!!
Loved the combinations. Thank you, Kathryn! It's been great having these online classes during the cornonavirus pandemic.
Thanks Katie! When I saw this said advanced I thought I'd have no chance of keeping up but I managed it and now I'm so proud of how I did!! Your advice has helped me improve so much!!
This is one of my favorite barres you have done. Could you please do more like this one. Thank you for all of your hard work and dedication as always!
Thank you so much for posting this. I have really had a lot of self doubt and after seeing that I could do all of this I feel that I can do so much more than I thought before. Thanks for always posting such great content that encourages me to always try my hardest.
awesome! this is basically the level we have at our little ballet school and I'm able to do this pretty good but i kinda suck in centre. Could you maybe do a video like this for centre if hadn't already? Would be great!

Great class! Thank you so much for having so many available.
Love, love, love this barre! Feels like I'm back in company class again. 😊
Perfect timing Katy! I leave for my intensive in 2 days!
Just did this ballet barre. Great job, Katie! I know I don't work as hard without a teacher watching me and a mirror to correct myself with, but still managed to break a sweat doing these combinations alone in my apartment.
So grateful to be able to do your barre at home while quarantined in Spain. A big thank you!
I just got back from a summer intensive and have been craving a ballet class for the past week ive been home. This is great! Ive been wanting to take class from you ever since I discovered your youtube channel. Im so happy that you posted this! I would absolutely love a centre video!
Haven't taken a class in 2 years. Very proud that I only struggled with the fastest moves finding a good 5th.
This is so helpful! I love you so much Kathryn!❤❤

I’m so happy that you made this! Especially because you are a former nycb dancer. I am a former Sab student but stopped because I don’t want to do ballet seriously. However, I still want to keep in shape and do it on the side so this is really helpful! Please make more if you can!

Thank you sooo much for this!!! I loved it
As an advanced dancer who stopped dancing 3 years ago this was so great for me!! Definitely a great (yet challenging) way of coming back into shape! Needs a lot of work of course, but so so helpful. Thank you!
Q&A: 1. Assemblés under. Our teacher includes them in every petit allegro, and we all feel like we look like we're dry heaving. 2. What should the timing look like on a grande plie? I thought in a 4 count grande, I would hit demi (heels down) at 1 and 3, but the professionals in my class seem to drop down all the way on 1.
MARVELOUS, Perfect for Quarantine
Thanks for this class!
Great barre workout! Thanks for all the videos!
Thank you so much! Its really nice to do it ins Summer holidays! 😘
These videos have been a lifesaver during quarantine! Thanks so much! :D
Wow, this was an awesome class. The level is tough for me, but I really enjoyed the quick tendues and the fondue combination. Also I was amazed that I could do some of the stuff. 1-2 years back I would have had no chance! You have motivated me so much, its just increadible. Thank you again!
Thanks for a great class!
