I've found my hearing is better with controlling my allergies. If your doctor hasn't found anything structurally wrong with your ears it might be good to look into seasonal allergy symptoms being a possible cause. I found using a neti pot to flush my sinuses then following it with a corticosteroid nasal spray has made the biggest difference. It doesn't help much with short term buildup but in the long run my earwax is less dry, drains easier, and doesn't get impacted like it used to.

For those who are interested in buying, don't. Your ears clean themselves through earwax that build up and remove automatically. As someone who’s dealt with extreme ear issues for my entire life, this would be super cool to use. However, I do not have an eardrum in the left ear, and cannot have water in my ears due to excessive ear infections (I use earplugs for swimming and ocean stuff) this would probably kill me to use haha. I just imagine myself putting it on and getting messed up by the water that comes in through the canal.

It was a tumor that ate it away and actually acted as the eardrum by filtering noise so once removed a lot of hearing went with it. Some doctors that are new to my stuff are surprised and ask questions at first haha

My left eardrum was replaced by the tissue behind that same ear. It’s called a tympanoplasty. Have they ever decided to do that for you?

@@bababooe7892 No they didn’t, since Tympanoplasty is used to replace mostly ruptured eardrums, they did not choose to do so. I had a cholosteotoma, which ate away the eardrum entirely, to the point where it had actually been gone for quite a long time they just never realized since they believed the tumor was the eardrum for a bit. Once the tumor was removed, it left nothing behind to repair or replace. I had two cholesteatoma, once in 2015 the other 2019 in the same ear. So there’s practically no chance to fix it or even use a hearing aid.

"eliminates the need for cotton swabs" Cotton swabs are the opposite of useful for impacted earwax. My advice - go to Walmart and buy the earwax removal peroxide oil. It will make your earwax foam up and become soft. Then get a fleet enema. Dump out the laxative, wipe off the lube, rinse it out, and fill it with warm water. After the oil drops set for 5 minutes, tilt your head over the sink and squeeze the bottle hard. Just like that, in less time it took to sit in a waiting room and for a grand total of $7.63, you've got the same results. It's amazing how dedicated to inefficiency the American healthcare system is.

Or just don't clean them. Earwax is necessary to protect the earcanal from water damage and infections just like mucus. Our eating and chewing motion pushes earwax out all by itself when in excess. Only in special cases does one have to go to an Otorhinolaryngologist to get ear cleaned.

The best thing for your eardrums is a vacuum

As a medical professional...we don't use these type of things to clean the ear for following reasons: 1) They don't deliver what they say, many such devices are scams like wax candles 2) There is more chance of injury with creating a vaccum in ear canal. Your ear drum may rupture. 3) What you can clean is the outer canal part, using products like this may dry ear leading to painful infections as wax protects the canal. 4) Your ear canal has self cleaning mechanism, it will move the wax in outer canal from where it will dry up and fall out of ear. Unless you have impacted ear wax which is not moving by any means we put a guided scope and remove it. 4) If you have any problem go visit a doctor he will surely charge less than $3000

For that price I'd probably find it worthwhile, not because I'm rich but because I'm willing to spend about as much just on audio equipment
