I have the Switch version. I love having Kirby on the screen, so that's a plus to the Switch version!

For the taiko player the ps4 is overall a better version, it's like the most accurate representation of the arcade games, it has customizable clothes, pair to pair track list(dlc included), updated animation work for the dons, and the feature i wanted the most in a taiko game, section replay, you can go and practice sections of the songs like in the GH which makes it way more easier to learn certain songs

@@BladeBlurNP! What i said Is something More unique to the dedicated player, the only caviat of the PS4 version Is the fact that the drums for that version stopped production a long Time ago, which means the Nswitch version Is the only one with available tatacons to purchase

Too bad the drums the PS4 came with was well known to have issues with it. I have first hand experience with it, and the thing stopped working after 3 songs. Heard that the Switch version is of better quality, though I have no idea how true that is

Another plus for the Switch version is they still add DLC to Drum n' Fun every month.

Honestly I had no idea the PS4 version had this much differences. Thanks for letting me know! I own the Switch version. I got it on sale awhile back. Was not expecting this review out of you but I'm glad you did!

Great video, my dude. I only played the Taiko no Tatsujin arcade machine once at a mall in Little Tokyo and had fun with it. I'd love to own both the PS4 and Switch versions of the game once I've gotten enough money. They both look like lots of fun.

Switch version you can carry around and play it. XD That's a big plus for me.

Got the drums and the PS4 version. As someone who doesn’t play rhythm games, it’s been well worth it. The drums make Taiko a lot of fun!

I got the Switch version. It was an easy choice cos it has the themes from Kamen Rider Build and Lupinranger Vs Patranger on it. Bangers they are.

Both are fun. Having both is good since they compliment each other with some songs exclisuve to one being DLC for the other, and then the obligatory shared songs and the Curse of the Cruel Angel Thesis.

You can play with an imaginary drum thanks to the joycon, that's why I got Swtich version. Right now is $10 USD on the E-shop!

Yup got it it a few days ago!

as of may 2021, nintendo switch version has more songs than drum session and is still supported with dlc and updates

i have the switch, since you could play it with fingers so that's a plus to the switch version! edit : also, kirby.

I’m now fully down the rabbit hole on this game. My fiancé basically told me to get it because knows I’m gonna anyway. Lol

I have both versions, but I only have the drum kit for the Switch version. I don't know if the peripheral is cross compatible with both versions or not, but if it was, it would definitely save me money and space from having to buy another! Also, I do like how the in-game store lets you preview songs before you buy them on PS4, as I'm not very familiar with Japanese songs, so it would be really difficult for me to work out what to buy if I never heard of them before. Well, except for Undertale and Studio Ghibi, because they would be a no brainer!

There are some drums that are multiconsole. There was a third-party one that came with a sort of mini controller which connects to the drum, and then to the console and I believe that one is the multi console one. The others which have the controller buttons built in the body of the drum are switch only I believe

@@ubermenschmexa Well I would say I have the latter one, since I got it as a bundle with Drum 'n' Fun on Switch. I don't know what this multi-console one is, where to find it, how well it works or how much it costs. I may have to look into that one.

@@Cyberbrickmaster1986 Look in aliexpress, the ones they sell are multi-console and go for about 50 usd. I recently bought a pair of fightsticks to play Tekken and they arrived in less than two weeks so I can assure they deliver. But beware the taiko drums, I've read they kinda have sensitivity issues

@@ubermenschmexa Shipping may be an issue depending on the website, as I live in Australia. And that usually means the price is even higher in AU dollars on top of shipping costs, which can be a lot coming from the US. And that's just assuming they allow for shipping and don't offer other international departments.

Both games are amazing.

the UI in ps4 version tho, looks damn powerful as one of taiko no tatsujin series releases. even nijiro ver doesn't have that powerful graphic

I bought it on both because I couldn’t choose, plus they were both on sale. PS4: $9.99 Switch: $14.99

Huh, didn't know there was a PS4 Taiko game. Good to know! Plus, I hear that the Switch lets you use motion controls with the Joy-Cons, but I guess that ain't much in the grand scheme of things I suppose.

I have both and for awhile, I considered the ps4 the better version until they for some reason remove the beat measures from the charts

Honestly, I just go off of Vocaloid songs since most of the other songs seem fairly similar, and I prefer Drum n Fun because more vocaloid songs I like AND much eve

I may owe the Switch version, but TBH, I prefer the PS4 version all the way. One is its selection of music the Switch still lacks and the important feature I want to see, the sprite animations for certain songs like Touhou characters in Touhou tracks or Vocaloid characters in any Vocaloid track like Sebonzakura Miku in “Sebonzakura”.

finally bought switch version, and already tried drum session with my friends' ps4 kinda hate the fact that almost all vocaloid songs in switch being a DLC. but it has more deco*27 songs like streaming heart and hibana, when in other hand in ps4 it only has ghost rule but as default song... i should buy the DLC next time... well yeah at least once

They're basically the same except for the regions. Drum n Fun = international ver , Nintendo Switch Version = asian ver

bandai namco great deals on eshop are really crazy as hell now.

In switch, Taiko barely runs at 45-50FPS, yet it gets to 120FPS on PS5.

@@BladeBlur My PS5 has stats that can be turned on, and that includes the framerate. My Switch is modded, though, and uses a Nvidia stats board, which includes the framrate, aswell.

My buddy castlezotz talks this game up all the time, I really want to get that bundle with the drum for the switch...I just don’t want to pay $150. Maybe I can sneak it as a Christmas gift

The video doesn't even talk about the most important factor when it comes to the PS4 and Switch versions, lol. The simple fact that the Switch drum came over to the west with the game and the game is also physically available, while on PS4, it's digital only and no drum, like, KO, Ding ding ding, that's the whole point of the game, the bread and butter, how can you ignore this? There is a PS4 drum but a) you have to import it and b) it's also, qualitatively, much worse than the Switch version. The PS4 drum for whatever reason is in much worse quality and you basically have to mod it for it to work properly. So yeah, how did forgot this? :D

Personally I have never seen a drum bundle in the west. And second I was just talking about the games as is without the drum being a factor. Plus you can import drums for both regardless.

@@BladeBlur That's probably because the bundle (and by extension, the western physical release) was Europe-only. In the States, Bandai Namco briefly sold the drum on their online store but that's about it

Fully disagree. I purchased the Niko drum combo and unless you mod it the drum set is…well, you had best mod it otherwise controller it is. This is for the Switch version. I love it and play it using the controller as I have yet to mod mine (but plan to as soon as the piece becomes available).

It is quite fun to play this game with an actual drum
