As a Christian I do not have an inappropriate regard for the paper and ink that conveys the message that God has given me. I can tear up a bible, I can spill coffee on it, I can stand on it, etc. I do not do these things because I am a practical sensible person. But if that paper and ink book suffers some misfortune I am not overly distressed, because I know the message is greater than the material means of conveying the message. The Muslim by contrast puts the paper and ink of the Quran on the same level as their Allah. They carry on about shirk but then go and make the ramblings of the false prophet as important as their supposed creator god, Allah. Their inordinate respect for the paper and ink that the ramblings of the false prophet are written on amount to an effective act of idolatry. Just mishandle the object of their idolatry and watch them go into a hysterical frenzied fit.

You're 100% right! A Christian whom reads their Bible diligently, and researches and uses its contents thoroughly will have its spine breaking, dog ears on the pages whilst being filled with highlighted verses. A muslim will keep their quran on the top shelf on a piece of cloth and it will be left there to collect dust. They will even place a mat on the ground before the quran touches the surface.
