this is just my opinion through the lens of 'someone's child' and not as 'someone's partner,' but i think couples with kids (emphasis on having kids, even if they're all grown up) should stay together as long as their relationship is a normal one (emphasis on normal) that's not abusive, etc., or at least try to make it work for the sake of their kids who never asked to be born. a lot of people in their older years fall out of love but stay together/settle because they've built a strong bond of loyalty and understanding over time. it might be a bit different from the type of love they wanted/experienced when they were younger but i would hope the feeling of "i've got a family" would rank higher than "i want to be with someone new because i'm not as physically/emotionally attracted to my partner anymore and want new physical/emotional/mental stimulation." if someone doesn't have kids, then they can do whatever they want. having kids is a huge responsibility--and the next point is probably the key point--but if someone forces life onto someone who ends up not wanting it, then their happiness should reasonably come first. and i do think that keeping a family together is within reasonable means if stability is important to the child. this might seem selfish but i'm in the camp of "it's selfish to have kids who are struggling with not wanting to be here but choosing to create avoidable struggles in the life they were forced to live." again, this is just my opinion. everyone has their own thoughts and values and hopefully their decisions all work out in the end. tl;dr no marriage/no kids = no need to worry about the (mostly legal side of) consequences of falling out of love B) also, taeyeon's b-sides are really good too (Burn it Down / Melt Away)
