Oh hell yeah, time to remake all that Baldur and accidentally make too many crystals again 💪

i think the biggest upgrade the crafting system got was removing the godawful chance based success rate, everything else was just good quality of life changes.

It definitely helped. Just always fun to look at RB and imagine the devs in the room like "Fuuuck...I thought we'd just need to adjust some numbers, but every layer is a new whole other mechanic to fix"

Spend an entire afternoon crafting from the books found in the elemental shrines So many wootz steel and orbs

Me: "I miss rogues and 2H bow kunoichis, I should play LUCT." LUCT: 63% success rate on crafting basic items. Me: "Time for Reborn!"

Poof, sorry, that's another 4 hours in Coda 4, buddy.

Having just gone through and gotten all my crafting books, even in One Vision the crafting is still quite the pain. I had to go back and redo Vaasa temple and Pirate's Graveyard to get books I missed. Using the emulation tools running One Vision at least lets you solve a lot of the shortcomings of the original crafting like craft percentage, and using fast forward to go through the tedium of having to craft every item individually. You could even use a cheat if you wanted to just not have crafting consume items, which would put you very similar to Reborn convenience.

Plus you generally only need one item per stack, easing up on the confusion a lot. No need to worry about which of 20 different mend leaves you need, and end game crafts generally just need an obvious thing..like if you need to make Apocrypha 2, it'll be the glowy elemental rocks from the elemental temples, not some 10% drop chance from a boss that may or may not bother to show up.

@@CoffeePotato I've never been both excited and annoyed to gain access to new sets of gear in a game before like I am in Tactics Ogre.

games today really shouldn't put in mechanics that encourage save scumming
