To be cheap and abundant are greate trades for a tool that may break. Wenn you're in the wild: A knife on a stick may be sharper, but you can make many pointy sticks by keeping your knife,. The sticks are cheap and abundant, your knife is not.

Exact same reason I carry a $5 knife at work. If it breaks, or gets left on scene, it really doesn't matter. I have like 3-4 more where that one came from.

What if you need to get into a car, like to car jack someone or get a purse that is set on the passenger seat while someone is waiting to pull out in a store parking lot. Hi point of the sword world so I am betting those might be the usecases lmfao

Uh... Generally, you're better off using a butter knife than one of these things to carve a pumpkin. Sharper, more resistant to bending and easier to make precise cuts with.

@@rashiro your point is valid if I'm in a sword fight or trying to chop a tree but i wouldn't worry about it coming out of my hands otherwise.. It can also be sharpened if needed and will work just fine on people or anything really that isn't harder than a watermelon. 🍉

I dunno too much about swords, but a lot of knife companies often there paint their stainless blades to hide impurities and defects. Next time you pick up that $30 folding knife and it's painted, it was probably made with metal that didn't pass QA for polished knives

I once almost got in a fight with my brother, because I did something minor that pissed him off, and he was about to punch me. Fortunately, I had one of these cheap swords right by me, so I was able to curb his enthusiasm. So while I can say these swords likely aren't good, it did get me out of a tough situation.

So it needs an edge and does not bend (I got you have spring steel as the spine and 10:45 at the tip and 1095 steel at the center of the edge of the blade so have dexterity can sell strength hardness rigidity and resilience)

personally I don't see the point in owning something you don't use, I wouldn't buy a firearm to not shoot it nor would I buy a sword or tool I wouldn't use, if I just wanted it for decoration I'd just get a cheap dull one sharpen it then use it as decoration, but I don't feel it very necessary to buy an expensive sword designed for cutting thrusting ect and never use it
