This is what we all imagine we'll be doing in a heli, but none of us really do. That duel with the AA at the end was epic!

Simply incredible Apache gameplay! Terrain masking, vigilant, clapping enemy choppers, hitting targets of opportunity. Just really well done!

Standard helicopter tactics in DCS World. You leave behind an obstacle, launch a rocket, and as the rocket approaches the obstacle, you raise the helicopter and the laser to the air defense system. While he is launching a missile there, while he is flying, your missile will already fly into the air defense system. This is especially easy on the Ka-50, since the Vikhr missile is faster than Shturm, and even more so Hellfire and TOW. Thus, even the most dangerous air defense systems can be destroyed.

Unless you're using a Kamov, that spot is the only spot you can use from that side of the map. There's quite a lot of map where helis that aren't Kamvos are very difficult to play because of the fact that Hellfire are so glitchy around folliage. It would be nice if they could fix it, but I doubt that will ever happen, since it wouldn't benefit the USSR ...

I have been with the M1A2 Abrams for more than a year and I am still with the HEATFS, it shows how I have left USA abandoned, when they raised the IPM1 to 10.7 XD. Have if these days I put to play more with USA 😅😂

It is an Abrams dude, and Abrams is definitely a jet fighter.

i noticed the hellfires are facing directly frontal,, shouldn't they have a upper angle? so the missile can be "lobbed" over trees?

Oh didn't know the Helfire K's were better than the B's... Think I might finish the grind on the D today I reckon

These devs be adding A-10’s and now F-14’s. However, they can’t even add the AGM-114L for the longbow… We got the longbow, but can’t even use its fire and forget capabilities

Because it would be beyond OP. "The AGM-114L, or Longbow Hellfire, is a fire-and-forget weapon: equipped with a millimeter-wave (MMW) radar seeker, it requires no further guidance after launch-even being able to lock on to its target after launch-and can hit its target without the launcher or other friendly unit being in line of sight of the target. It also works in adverse weather and battlefield obscurants, such as smoke and fog, which can mask the position of a target or prevent a designating laser from forming a detectable reflection." PARS can be easily shut down by a bit of foliage or smoke. AGM-114L couldn't.

Hi Hunter, big fan but I don't know whether you know or not.. hellfires actually have LOAL (lock-on after launch) feature that is implemented in game and it works very well. It essentialy means you can place your SPI (stabilized reticle on target), dip down behind a mountain, launch the missile while behind cover and lase the target at final 7 seconds of missile's flight. In real world, apache pilots use this method with "observer" that has laser designator on target, so in real world they don't even have to pop up again as long as that same "observer" keeps the laser designator on target. I see that most of the content creators and players use LOBL (lock-on before launch) method, and I noticed you are also using this in all of your apache videos, which is not very reliable especially with Hellfire Bs since they have the worse seeker than Hellfire Ks. It also requires you to keep laser on the target for the whole duration of the missile's flight to hit it reliably, which can be dangerous against SPAAs with SAMs

​@@Hunter_i86 Yes I saw that and I know why that hellfire didn't got messed up by the trees in front of you, you were actually just in range to pop up and lase the target exactly moment before hellfire came down from top-down trajectory, if you were 8km away, there is now way that hellfire would've hit the target. I also noticed that your laser designator is turning on automatically when you launch the missile, so you are actually firing hellfires in LOBL mode by default. There is an in-game option called "enable laser designator before launching the missile" in "options" menu that is enabled by default so you can try to disable that option and keybind "toggle laser designator" in helicopter controls to control it manually and that way you can use both LOBL and LOAL methods by toggling the laser. That could be a good tutorial video to make so that more players are aware of this feature, especially because we have YAH-64 that anyone without much helicopter experience can get. Hello there, sure could be a bug .. such things happen all the time with laser guided weapons, even with jets like Jaguars.

how did you ever become so good with vechiles and cas ?

was it a different type of hellfire that only the AH64D has? since it is so effective against enemy helis. meanwhile the hellfire I got on the AH64A and other minor nations keep missing the target.

How did you get reliable kills with hellfire against ka50? I tried a hundred times and the hellfire never connects. Is it cuz it is 114k instead of B variant?

I don't think K or B matter, they were just hovering and not maneuvering targets.

Same my friend, if those choppers did slight maneuvers the missile would miss.

One question - I’m trying to turn on the radar ( the one one the left side), but for some reason it doesn’t show and it feels like it’s always inactive, so I always have to find targets manually. Is it a bug or I’m just blind? 😅

Radar has three modes now, air to air, air to ground and MTI .. so it depends on what type of target you want to find, however it is not very efficient to depend only on radar.

It doesn't always work or be a useful tool because it can lock on friendly and destroyed vehicles as well, but anyway there is a button for that, "Lock Radar Target On".

What's the difference between the Hellfires on this and on the Peten?

Because overkill, seriously though sometimes the first will not kill then you wait 10 more seconds for the second missle. He might also launch two depending on ground clutter ect, plus 16 hellfires is alot so why not?

Alright, I killed 3 choppers were already out in the sky and engaging my teammates, and two ground vehicles .. one is a BMP-3 in a sniping position and the second is SPAA .. I keep my eyes on enemy spawns because it is the main nest of SPAAs, you might not know that the result of battle between air defense and pilot highly determined by "who spots who first", so if I have the opportunity to kill SPAAs not only in their spawns but even in their hangars I would not hesitate. Also, I don't know how an aircraft can camp, you need a tent, stick and small area of ground to make camp my friend :)
