    I think this along with your initial Centurion conversion both have the problem that the torso is way to narrow and severely pinched at the waist and shoulders which makes the whole design end up looking unfortunately comical, due to how undersized the arms are and how awkwardly they stick out from the chest. From the waist down I think it looks amazing and even the torso and arms independently look great however the proportions when all put together just seem really off and ruin it for me.

    As a standalone model, I like it a lot, but with the narrow waist, it loses the Heavy Metal astetic of 40k and looks more anime.

    I have a different view of this to you, I see the effectiveness of the small torso and thin waist, this would give it a lot more accessibility and mobility which would help it greatly in battle, the large legs give strength and allow them to stomp on enemies easier and run faster, I support the thin waist because of effectiveness rather than epicness, but I see your point

    This is why i hate that everyone who converts centurions always gets rid of the chest bolters. They extra guns is secondary to the fact they bulk out the model and give centurions a large percentage of their chunkiness. Without them the chest always looks thin and weak, and the sides always look incomplete.

    I may have to do something like this for my Chapter Master, his chapter is actually from Iron Warriors stock, and his Forgemaster is low-key a former Warpsmith, so he would have his own custom warsuit for the particularly hazardous battles

    I have an idea: So Krieg is a death world right?A whole lot of toxins and mutations and posions,etc. So it would make sense for some lost squadron of Death Korps to develop mutations right?What I'm suggesting is making some Krieg soldiers with tentacles and other physical mutations,thought that would look cool.

  • @TheGiddyReaper

    @TheGiddyReaper

    3 жыл бұрын

    The thing about Krieg is that they would most likely kill any mutant created or born on Krieg. And seeing as all their soldiers are like clones born in artificial wombs, mutations aren't that likely. I do like you're idea of mutant guardsmen though. The gasmask look with tentacles and other growths would look cool

    The Shoulders look incredibly good as does basically the entire assembly around the head, the arms look fine but personally i despise wrist-blades in any form but that's just me. However below the thorax region it isn't great and unlike the subjective wrist-blades i'd say it's more of a fundamental proportion/anatomical problem. Don't get me wrong the details are good, the loincloth looks awesome but some basic things don't look right, like many have said the waist is too narrow and the torso too long. Armour design typically incorporates a large portion of the pelvic region to overlap with the main 'cuirass' portion, think of late medieval to tudor armour, the large plates at the hips actually start pretty high up. Where you have went wrong is that you have BEGUN the Ab portion AT the projected belly button and not above it (just about between the upper 2 rows of abs in a six pack) the belt buckle thing above the loincloth is where is pecker should be basically. Another way to envision future conversions is the two circles that make up a basic silhouette of a torso, the chest circle and the hips circle (which has the belly button roughly in the centre and the pecker mostly hanging off the bottom) they should have a decent amount of overlap, you can squash and stretch this and mess with weighting, like having huge shoulders or a thick rump but you should be very careful with elongating it and pulling the circles apart. Worse for me though is the triple jointed almost 'ruminant' looking legs, they are a bit strange and don't read well. The left leg (shield side) in particular is quite frankly a mess, i'm sorry to say, the visual confusion makes it look like it actually starts at the knee pad.

    honestly, i think that having a "mini" Dreadknight would be a lot cooler. I hate the fact that even in 9th with all the supplements unless you playing 1 of the 4 chapters that had codexes before, your really still playing smurfs that act weird. grey knights having access to Centurion would make them feel less unique. having a mini Dreadknight that fit the same type of role would help keep their flavor, while also giving them more flexibility.
