i worked in retail and this woman brought in 3 20% off entire purchase coupons and asked me to use all of them. i said they can’t be stacked and she was like “i know, i want 3 different transactions to use up my coupons, you get me?” and i tried to explain for so long that she would just be wasting the two extra coupons, she thought i was so dumb for not understanding but in the end i just did what she wanted 🤷🏻‍♀️ not worth the explanation or the customer getting angry lol

Our store has fuel points you can accumulate with every purchase to save money on gas. One fuel point for every dollar spent. We had a special with 4X the fuel points on gift card purchases. I had a girl ask me to verify we had that special going on. I confirmed we did, and she asked if she bought 2 girft cards would it be 8X the fuel points.

When I worked at Burger King I had to try to explain to people that when they ordered something like a whopper jr plain or with only mustard and ketchup, they were just wanting a hamburger plain or only m&K, but paying 30 cents more asking for a whopper jr, with none of the stuff that makes it a whopper jr (lettuce, tomato and mayo). After I explained it and they still didn't get it, I'd just give up and charge them for the whopper jr. You want to pay 30 cents more for nothing fine.

He ordered a smoothie and a large ice cream. I tried explaining he had to get two of the same thing to get one for free, and no amount of words made him understand. It was in clear bold words on the coupon. In the end I gave one for free cause it was busy and he looked about ready to reach over the counter and choke me.

And a woman came in wanting a shake with strawberries, blueberries, and cheesecake ice cream. Seeing it being poured into a cup she said it wasn’t right, it looks different than when it’s just mixed together by hand. So I ask what the problem is. “It’s not...red. It’s too purple.” I confirm she wanted blueberries, she says yes but it’s not right and she doesn’t want it. Even asked if she could taste it first but she refused. Like oh my fucking god this woman never learned that red+blue=purple? And when blended of course it’ll turn that color?

I've overhead customers getting mad that 2 for $20 was more with tax. I'm guessing they never even thought about tipping. I used to have a similar problem when I worked at a clothing store that has "2 for $$" special. In fact, my MANAGER called me on the carpet because I had rung up a couple dozen $21.30 sales in just over an hour. "I haven't counted the register yet, but why did you ring this one sale so many times." "We had the lunch crowd, and there were a lot of people doing the 2 for $20. With tax it's 21.30." He got really irritated, said "We'll see" and was annoyed at me the next morning and thereafter because...I had done my job and correctly explained what seemed like a discrepancy at first. Also, no customers, that doesn't mean one is $10. One is $14.99, I don't make the rules.

It’s so funny because I can relate.. some of the most “advanced” people I have met have their doctorate in some field, yet are perplexed by things that take nothing more than common sense to solve.

@Nature and Physics @Nature and Physics Its cheaper in general compared to regular price if there is a special, so I say "we have a combo for that today, you get 2 for the price of 1, and you can split the combo. What kind of taco do you each want " Instead of confusing them with the different flavors and the "you can have her extra 'free taco' spiel". Its essentially the same thing as a buy one get one free, but its explained easier. People understand combos better than BOGOs. This way they still pay less than they would have if they bought 2 tacos separately, but I don't confuse them with the prices if they don't already know the math.

This reminds me of a moron I dealt with in the early 90s when I was in high school and worked at Arby's. They had a deal, 5 regular roast beef sandwiches for $5.00. I think they were regularly $1.89 each. This guy came in and ordered 4 of them. The charge came to around $8.00. I told him if he buys a fifth, his price would go down to $5.00 plus tax. He said he didn't want five. That made no sense to me, so I told him he could save one, give it away or simply throw it out, he'd be spending less if he got five. The guy went ape shit. His face turned red and he started yelling at me and telling me to stop trying to sell him extra items. I couldn't help but laugh at him and that made him even madder. I gave him what he wanted. He then told me he was going to complain. I told him go ahead, I'm not the genius who paid over 50% more than I had to, for fewer items. Good luck in life, you'll need it. As far as I know he never complained. That stupidity really stuck with me. To this day, I don't get it.

I’ve been in this position so many times and you can literally feel the heat coming from your other tables as they watch you navigate these moronic conversations. I once had a woman point at the steaks in the menu and ask “where can I find these in the menu?” ... Everyone should be required to serve for two years so you all know what you are. It’s a humbling experience as a human being.

This is so freaking accurate!! I have worked in retail and restaurants and there are people who do not, I repeat DO NOT, understand the concept of a deal and over think to the point of brain mush. I felt like this is a sketch of a memory of mine when I had those jobs

It's annoying that they didn't understand what he was saying but it's also aggravating watching him not explain their point of confusion. Like he never just said "the free second taco doesn't have to be the same kind of taco as the one you are paying for" 😭

This is sad. I know people who think like this. I feel the pain of the waiter and the other diner...

This is so real, especially the part where they are surgeons, I've waited on so many MD's that could not decipher the menu properly or make a coherent order, even after multiple visits, it always amazed me!!!

Haha being a server is definitely like this sometimes! A guy yelled at me once because I said I would charge him dinner instead of lunch because it was cheaper then adding the salad for 2.99 extra. He screamed “I’m here for lunch” and I just said ok and charged him the lunch portion because I knew my tip was going to suck anyway lol

The problem here lies with the waiter. He could’ve just said that the free one could be of any flavor/kind then the conversation would’ve been over, they just have to pay for the one that’s priced higher. IDK if that’s just me 😂

Komada the both of them were unbearable. I stuck through the video thinking it was just a build up to something hilarious but I was wrong. It was like listening to nails on a chalkboard

I work in retail and we have deals like this and yes this happens way to often. I’m including with nurses and doctors

@@Chefyy We expect people like that to be "smarter", but the truth is they don't have to be. Being a doctor doesn't usually require copious knowledge on stuff like arithmetic and geography

3:11 after working in public education for 12 years, I cant even tell you how many times I felt this exact way.

I actually witnessed this once at a restaurant. We were laughing hysterically.

I'm so happy that they put Heidi Gardner and Jessica Chastain together for a skit. Both are incredible talents.

I WISH MIKEY DAY WAS MY WAITER AT ANY RESTAURANT!!

What's sad is this is a 100% possible scenario in real life.

I teach public high school. This is too true to be funny.

I used to teach, too. I left to pursue a career as an actuary in 2016 because I knew if I kept going, I was going to end up in jail for punching a parent in the face. Props to you, you have the patience of a saint.

Jessica is so versatile, she was able to figure out the freaking gravity equation in another role 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

To be fair, he never said the free taco could be a different type than the paid one.

This is genuinely what it feels like trying to teach people who only know their field. I don't know about teaching surgeons basic math, necessarily, but I have some experience with attempting to teach grammar to an engineer and this is entirely on point for that.

I guess Dr. Piracha, whoever that may be, was unaware that the hands are controlled by what's going on in the head.

He could have honestly just told them the taco deal didn't limit itself to beef or chicken 😭

As an actual doctor, this sketch hurts me on a deep level...but also it was pretty hilarious

I waited tables for seven years and this is making my heart race...

This is my job in a nutshell everyday. And crazy thing is I'm an essential employee 😂😭

Explained to someone I was serving that our restaurant’s lemonade, which was hand squeezed to order, does not entail free refills. He then said “well then we should go somewhere else” in what I believed to be a joking manner. Within 60 seconds, he and his family were out the door. This sketch hit me so hard in the real feels.

As a waitress, this is exactly why I despise when my boss does food deals.

Basically me and my best friend whenever where baked.

To be fair, the server could have explained it better: The free taco can be a different meat from the paid taco, so for example, if you buy a chicken taco, you can get a beef taco free. That's the same as saying the tacos are half price if you order two.

It's scary, but I've dealt with customers like this....

This conversation reminds me of my friends and I when we have no sleep for almost 2 days because of a group work and we went out to grab lunch. We gave 1000 to the cashier and she asked if we have 82 or even 2 so she can give us 200 or 120, we stood there trying to understand what she’s explaining.

I've met doctors who do not understand simple math such as percentage or fractions. So tipping the waiter would require a lot of explanation.

they're both really fucking on point in this.

This brought back "buy one get one half off" retail flashbacks.

When Aidy gets a good line it hits hard. I laughed hard as hell when she came in.

I literally just interviewed a prospect for a roommate that was just like this. Anytime I went to explaine everything he would ask a million questions and say it was too complicated. One time I did some math and he said nevermind it's too complicated I'll just move in on the 1st instead of the 15th literally just so he didn't have to do math

I once waited tables and one day this woman ordered onion rings after her main order. When she got the bill she was upset for there being tax twice on the bill one for her sandwich and one for her onion rings. When I told her it was the same amount of tax if she had ordered onion rings with her meal she got angry. The manager eventually took off the price of the onion rings but she was mad because she thought we were thinking she was stupid.
