I put a very small amount of grease on the tracks on the blade and the knife did not work. I thinned it down with gun oil and cleaned away the grease and now it's working. So I guess that's a rule of thumb. Overall I am very impressed with this knife. Not only for its cost but for its quality.

Great video, I bought a Lightning Elite and it started misfiring soon after I bought it. Your video helped me take mine apart and it was bone dry, so I lubricated it and it works perfectly. I would like to buy an expensive OTF but I can’t justify the cost when they all do the same thing. Mainly the blade steel is better on the expensive ones. Thanks

Strangely enough, I have learned that otf knives should be oiled less than out the side traditional autos. When I was a greenhorn OTF owner I would keep them liberally oiled and I would have problems. I learned to use very little oil. The opposite is true for side folder autos. What do you think?

In the video he mentioned gun oil but I know that you can buy oil made for knives also but not sure if it's safe for otf. I also heard another KZreadr say wd40 is a good choice.

This is 100x easier to clean and work on than my kershaw speedsafe… one question, if the spring or other parts break can you contact tacknives and have them send you parts? I know kershaw has a form on their website to order any part you need for free, leatherman requires you to send the knives in and pay for the shipping, what is tacknives standard practice for something like a broken spring?

Looked at the website. If anything on the knife breaks that isn’t “wear and tear through normal usage” you can ship it to them and they will fix and repair it for free. However they charge $5 to ship it back.

@@timice3753 Yea.. then I’m sure they wonder why they have 50 subs and don’t get many views. Sounds good, basically the same policy as leatherman then, I have a 40% off coupon I’m just waiting to use for the right one, still haven’t decided yet. I know I don’t want one that weighs 8+ oz like most their regular ones.

I wish they just made the handle form around the base (bolster/tang whatever) of the blade, that way they’d lock up nice and eliminate the play that nobody likes.
