I guess you didn’t even realize she is using pips. It’s why Zhang says out of bounds. The point of the video is showing how to loop against pips with different spins. There is a float but no spin ball, a dead low ball, a top spin ball, a ball that wiggles. Due to different variations, the player has to use different looping techniques.

you dont need much impact to lift no spin ball but for a heavy chopped backspin ball good/thick impact is a must to ensure the ball can be lifted or else it will be slipped from rubber. Try with your LP partner.

The student still doesnt understand the concept of a thin contact to loop Coach Wang's underspin chops. His still tries to hit the loop with a lot of force and hence isnt the contact point with the ball isnt thin enough to impart proper topspin. Look at when Zhang Jike hits the loop.
